This is a great jar. I use it for holding pipe tobacco. Because the contents stay airtight, it keeps the tobacco fresh for long periods of time.

As everyone has already indicated, the tightvac doesn't actually create a vacuum, nor is it airtight.So if you're looking to store something particularly pungent.... the classic ziplock/tupperware combo is 100% better and cheaper than the tightvac.Also, if you store your materials directly in the tightvac for long enough, the material will pick up a quite unpleasant plastic odor and taste... really ruined a particularly enjoyable strawberry material...

Keeps food air tight can't even smell God awful moldy food (yes I did a test).

Upon taking the container out of the packaging box I discovered that a small area around the vacuum seal is cracked.

very simple spring lock with rubber plug releases when button is pushed.- delicate and insufficient contraption that can deliver neither durability nor strength; i may find it useful for a travel stash for cereal perhaps?

So I bought this for the obvious purpose of storing various herbs in a vacuum sealed container to keep them fresh. If you are consuming your items at a pretty regular pace and replenish regularly this will likely suit your needs. However I feel air tight vacuum seal is a bit off as I have had things get dried out inside.You do very much need to ensure that you seal it properly and even confirm that it has remained sealed if some time has passed. I have had the issue of the seal loosening itself after a period of time. The other thing is it will retain smells so cleaning in between items is usually a good idea so you don’t cross contaminate the smells or flavours.If you are looking for a temporary storage container it will do the trick. The real question is will this offer you something a ziplock bag doesn’t? For me it did but I’m not sure this is a necessity for everyone.

Holds my green just fine. Like the idea of when vacuum sealed the lid doesn’t fall off easily.
