I think they help?
They may help with some more budget keyboards, but if you get into the world of custom mechanical keyboards, you dont want these. They dont make enough of a difference and can affect the feel of those custom switches.

got all on my keycaps, there were extras so i added double on my keypad which feels a lil comfortable now

Inconsistent sizing.
These rings would be great... if they were all the right size. Unfortunately, they weren't. Some were the correct size to fit onto the keycap stems. Those worked precisely as advertised. The rest, unfortunately, were too big and simply fell right back off as soon as the cap was turned over to reinstall on the board. Which left me with roughly 50% of the rings being unusable. Very disappointed.
