Great cable. Like the braided cover; feels solid and you can grip without the slipperiness of the rubber cables. Cheap cheerful and does the job.

Doesn't seem as well made as it could be. The braided binding started slipping after only a few days off use, the plastic inner cord tore. And finally the actual copper wiring tore as well.

Thick, long, and stylish. Unfortunately the cable isn't super durable, and I believe the cable isn't 3.0, so it won't allow you to transfer files between a phone and a computer. Thought it was great at first, but time has disillusioned me.

Works well but the braided layer is slipping off

I received a free sample for an evaluation and honest review.Ever since seeing the MicFlip cable on Indiegogo, I've lusted after a reversible micro USB cable. After all, what an ingenious idea. One reviewer called it nothing more than a parlor trick, but I disagree when it comes to my life. It's not that uncommon that I'm plugging a cable into my phone in dim light, making me concentrate and stare at the cable to see which way to plug it in. Sure, I could just jab it into the connector and switch it if it doesn't fit :), but I'm more careful with my stuff than that. This cable is awesome, IMO.Not only is the micro side reversible, but so is the regular USB connector. Seriously, why didn't they make them like this in the first place? Sure, they finally got that right with type C connectors on USB 3.1, but I have a LOT of micro USB devices around this house - and I LOVE this cable.Personally, I think that build quality is very good. It's not thinner than the vast majority of my USB cables, being thinner only than the nylon braided cables that I have. I happen to really like the flexibility of it, and I have yet in many years of using USB cables to ever (ever) have one stop working on me. I have zero fear of this cable breaking.At the current price, I think that this is an outstanding product. I'll say it again. OUTSTANDING. I'm constantly plugging in USB-to-micro USB cables and devices, and I'm constantly looking at both connectors to get them plugged in correctly. You don't have to look at all with these. Seriously - at all. You can plug either connector in either way. Yeah, it would be better if they came up with a cable that could do USB or micro USB on either end :D, but for now, this is fantastic. There are others on the market that I haven't used, so I can only speak to this one - and I think it's a complete winner at this price. The MicFlip is advertised to be built better, but it also cost more the last time that I saw it - and it is only reversible on the micro USB side. If I was spending my cash, I'd buy this cable because I love the fully reversible aspect on both sides, and it costs half as much. Well, that and you can get these...the MicFlip is still in preorder despite being two months behind.

SUMMARY: This premium quality, spec-compliant cable, which features a durable braided cord as well as a sleek and lengthy 2m design, earns a well-deserved full recommendation.----When the silver variant of this USB-A to -C cable arrived at my doorstep, its premium quality was apparent, despite the less-than-well-known brand name and unassuming frustration-free packaging. A zipped plastic bag, with accompanying twist-tie, is all that adorn this excellent cable. Once removed from its simplistic packing, one can inspect the cord up close. Wrapped in a dark nylon braid, the cable not only has a premium appearance, but, more importantly, it remains tangle-free and much more durable than its silicon-sheathed counterparts do. At each end, the cable’s connectors are strengthened with sturdy rubberized plastic, in addition to being encased in a matching aluminum-painted plastic shell. This serves the dual purposes of making the cord look more premium while adding to the cable’s overall durability, too.Owning a Nexus 6P, the task of finding quality third-party chargers and cables has not been the easiest, especially considering the importance of compliance with USB-C specifications. Moreover, purchasing such accessories direct from Google was a no-go. While I’m sure that would be a safe bet (they are the OEM, after all), paying their inflated prices for a cable just wouldn’t do, especially for someone who needs many cables and adaptors, like me. Once the requisite research was done, I decided to take a chance on this Viekoo cable. After the cable arrived, my first step for this review was to verify cable compliance (I wouldn’t want to fry my phone, after all!)To ensure that a cable is USB-C compliant, we can run the following test command (see attached screenshot for details):...\> adb shell "cat /sys/class/typec/typec_device/current_detect"The command above produces a single digit output -- 0, 1, or 2. A result of 0 or 1 indicates compliance (slow or fast, respectively), while 2 demonstrates a non-compliant cable. When the test was run from a USB 3.0 type-A port, the result was “0.” Thus, the Viekoo cable is compliant; however, it lacks support for 1.5A fast-charge when powered by a PC USB 3.0 port.Having used this to charge my 6P, I can honestly say that Viekoo’s cable works perfectly, and I am fully confident it is 100% compatible with both my charger and device. Additionally, the inclusion of a lengthy cord (2m) results in a cable that allows easier use of my device while charging. I will likely purchase another one to use at the office or as a travel charger.BOTTOM LINE: For anyone looking to pick up an extra cable for their USB-C devices, the Viekoo USB Type C to 2.0 USB Male Cable is a great choice.
