So far, so good.
I bought this about ten days ago. For the first nine days, I tried to swing it 10-20 times a day, at varying speeds. I try to work on tempo and proper release and weight transfer. It is clear to me when I don't get my weight to my left side because the ball will hit the bottom of the stick behind where a ball would be. This is a common miss in my swing, the dreaded dropkick. This device definitely picks up when I'm doing it, whereas other devices like a weighted club or a hinged club don't identify that. So it seems to be that it helps me be more consistent in getting my weight to my left side, which, at least for me, is the key to my better swings. The large ball really helps see my swing path. Like many, I try to work on swinging to right centerfield to avoid an out to in path. The goal, of course, is to try to his it straight or even draw it. Because the ball is so large, it is very easy to see, even at high speed, where your "clubhead" is going. Like Hank Haney says, if you think you're swing far enough to the right, you're not. Most of the time, this device shows that to be the case. I've also done some sessions where I just try to swing as fast as possible. No question, it results in a faster swing than with a club. Control? Who knows. I took it to the range with me today for the first time. I warmed up with it, and, when I pulled out my driver, I did the recommended six swings, some as fast as I could, and then hit my driver. I hit my driver great, long and straight or drawing. Cause and effect? Well, it's golf, so who really knows. But I've been working on trying to get that inside-out path and to swing faster, and I've not had much success until the last week. So, maybe it helps. Even it is not provable, I'm believing that it helps, and that helps. At least for now. Will it translate to the course? Again, who knows. That will depend, in part, on whether I can swing with the same aggressiveness on the tee that I am currently doing on the range. One funny note. My dog hates this thing because he thinks I'm hitting a ball and he runs around confused every time I swing, and after a dozen swings or so starts to bark his disapproval at being fooled. It has made my swings when the family has gone to bed challenging! I'll try to post an update after I get some more range and course work in. For now, I think I can clearly say that it doesn't hurt (unlike the hinge clubs which can be helpful but can be fooled and thus allow you to think a crummy swing is a good swing), though I think you need some decent fundamentals for this. I don't think you need to be great, but if you are a hopeless wreck who tops, sculls, chunks and misses the ball as often as you actually hit it OK, then this probably won't do much more than help you get loose. For context, I'm currently shooting in the low 90s.

Use it or lose it ......
Like any golf swing training aid, if you don't use the SpeedWhoosh, then it won't do a thing for you. This is the third SpeedWhoosh that I have had. The first one (years ago) broke over time. The myriad impacts from me using it like a fiend, finally caused the sliding ball to break and, ultimately, disintegrate. I called Momentus to make them aware of that failure, and they replaced the device, free of charge. And, I had had that one for a while; it lasted plenty long. So, today, my son (13) and I use the SpeedWhoosh, and it met the same demise; BUT, again, we swung that thing a LOT between the two of us. So, this time, I decided to just buy another one through Amazon. There are some slight differences to the 'new' model. The training grip handle is noticeably smaller (length, and circumference), but not too small for my hands. The other difference / modification may just solve the 'breaking ball' issue. On the new model, there is a rubber ring at the tip which serves as a cushion between the metal end and the sliding ball. Hopefully, that will prevent the ball from breaking. If you are a golfer and want to get better at the game, the SpeedWhoosh can help you. Check out the videos on YouTube and the Momentus website. Use as prescribed. But, most importantly, SWING THE DANG THING!!!! It's not going to do you a bit of good leaning up against the wall in your garage. USE IT. I would recommend using the SpeedWhoosh AND a heavier or more resistant device such as the Swing Power Fan, or the Momentus Power Hitter driver, or the Momentus Swing Trainer (the yellow one that's not made to hit balls). Other than that, if you want to get better at golf, find a good instructor and take the plunge. The better you swing the club, the more the SpeedWhoosh and other trainers will help you improve.

You Need to Swing Your Regular Club Same Number of Times to Get Coordination Back Before First Tee
Please note. When I swung it for the first time 8 times, then I tried to hit some practice balls, I could not hit any balls. My club kept going over the ball and when I did hit them they were just grounders. What I found out after practicing with it for a few days was that I had to swing my regular club at least the same amount of times after swinging the practice club and concentrating on hitting the ground with my club and the rear of the ball. I have played two 18-hole rounds since purchasing the practice club and I AM driving the ball further to my surprise. I am a golfer who has always needed to hit a dozen or so balls before the actual round to get loose. I have used the practice club before hitting the practice balls and then took the same number of swings with my regular club, then hit some practice balls and it seems to help my distance. I have not just gone to the first tee and swung the practice club. If I need to, I will make sure to swing the regular club at least the same amount of times to get my coordination back. I am a bogie golfer (85-91) and am 67 years old. It is a luxury item so buy it only if you can afford it.

The best for Lag and getting more distance
I have both the Junior and the Men's Whoosh and it really helps with swing training. I have the different sizes of the Orange Whip and the SKLZ Gold Flex as well. They work and I use them all for different things.1. SKLZ GOLD Flex - I use this more for strength training because it is very heavy and I really get a good workout swinging it.2. Orange Whip - This is very, very well made and it really helps you develop a smooth swing.3. Men's Whoosh - This really does help get much more distance and also is the best one for practicing the release of the club before impact. The magnet really holds the ball to the handle until you generate enough speed.During your backswing, if you are using your wrists to whip the club up, the Ball will detach from the handle and slide on the shaft so that you can see that you are casting on the backswing and downswing.I thought my Orange whip and SKLZ had removed my casting but apparently not. When I first tried it, the ball slid down the shaft during my backswing and downswing. I made sure after that I was not using my wrists but my turn to swing the club. I learned to hold on to my lag a lot longer. I use it everyday so that eventually muscle memory will kick in.This is a must have.
