My pets are safer
I have two sets of these and use them alot! Originally they were bought for my parrot. I would transport him to the vet in a small dog kennel. Since I drove about an hour each way by myself I would always be trying to make sure he wasn't sliding off the front seat by using my hand. This product keeps him safe now and my hands are on the wheel. I also use them for my cats. I have medium size hard carriers for them and this also keeps them safer. You can keep the belts hooked in the vehicle and remove the carriers but I have been just keeping the belts on the carriers and take them inside the vets with them attatched. Faster for me. They are quite long as they can hold big carriers safely in a car. There is excess belt when using a smaller carrier so I used a safety pin to pin up the excess. I was going to buy the newer carriers that have a loop for seat belts but read about the new way these carriers are kept together which can sometimes pop open. The answer to that was for me to purchase the carriers with screw bolts holding the together for my peace of mind and use these Kennel Restraint Belts! A great purchase!

Kennel/Crate Car Restraint
As a parent, grandparent, and dog owner, I believe in securing all passengers - 2 or 4 legged. I want my dog secured. For her safety as well as mine, I don't allow her free roaming throughout the car. Not only could this be a distraction/danger in my driving, should an accident occur, she could be thrown out of the car through a windshield, killed upon hitting an object in the car, or lost in the chaos of the accident. She is kennel trained, and more than happy to get in her crate for a car trip. The Universal Kennel Restraint assures that the kennel & my dog won't go flying. Statistics show that during an accident, flying objects within the car are responsible for passenger deaths. In other words, the air bag may have saved my life, but I died because the unsecured dog kennel flew forward and fatally cracked my head. The Universal Kennel Restraint gives me the assurance that the Kennel is secured. We have 2 sets of Restraints installed in my car & my husband's car (based on our trip plans, and use of which car,we just have to move the kennel from one car to the other). All dogs need to be restrained for safe car driving. Since we have a small dog, kennel/crate works for us.

Great Product!
When I first got my puppy, he didn't like riding in the car. So I trained him to go into a plastic crate, and then put the crate in the car. Problem solved. Except that I worried about his safety if I was ever in an accident. These restraints are perfect. The crate is secured and doesn't slide if I slam on the brakes of need to make a quick turn.

Easy to use
Item secures the dogs crate in the car. Very easy to use and as safe as everyone elses seatbelts. Can transfer it in to another car easily.

Didn't Use.
My husband thought these were overkill, so we didn't use them.

Hard to set up securely
Unlike the previous review, this one is about a customer experience rather than an advertisement. I bought this kennel restraint system on the advice of our veterinarian. It is hard to set up securely, and the company does not post directions on the web.The straps are plenty large for any kennel that would fit inside a car. They are easy to buckle and unbuckle, and to tighten and loosen. They are supposed to work with the car's seat belts: you put the seat belt through the straps, buckle it, and then put the straps around the kennel. The problem is that standard shoulder belts in the back seats of cars are loose until a sudden slowdown, so putting the seat belt through the kennel restraint strap does not stop the kennel from shifting around on the back seat.I remember getting it to work right once after lots of fiddling. It would be very useful if the company posted the package directions or a video clip like their clip for a different dog harness. (We have misplaced the directions -- or maybe my efficient husband tossed them, thinking we didn't need them any more.)A better design would have what baby car seats provide: a clip to keep the seat belt from moving, and a tether that hooks to the tether attachment required in all new-ish vehicles.
