Banaras: Walks Through India's Sacred City Hardcover – 1 December 2014

We carried this book during our Banaras trip. This book was handy and guided us perfectly.

I am not too big a fan of foreigners coming into India and writing about its culture and heritage. This Book has been written for the western reader, but at places surprises with the in-depth vision of the author. There are many other good books in Hindi on Kashi, but nevertheless, I recommend this book to anyone who wants to understands the ancient city.

I really enjoyed reading this book. One of my favourite books on Varanasi.

Very detailed book but it is not about walking in Banaras. I was hoping something unique but I am disappointed. It is a travel blog compiled as a book with misleading title.

This book has captured all points. Interestingly, the author has missed the most important aspect of Kashi. She has written the very important facts in small fonts (meaning less emphasis) and less important facts in very big fonts. First of all the author should what is Kashi and why Kashi/ Varanasi. Please understand Varanasi is not a vacation spot.

Excellent book. Worth purchase, definitely. Maps, pics ,everything... Suuuuperb.
