Literally the second I got it and opened the book I was impressed!!!! I subscribe to Korean Unnie on YouTube and literally bought the book immediately after seeing her use it in a new video series. I didn’t even watch the video, I paused it right as she started reading and hopped on to amazon to buy it so I can read along. I’ve been searching for a way to practice my Korean reading comprehension while also learning new words and phrases and have wanted to use simple stories and children’s books. The text is very clean and the book is well organized. The Korean Short on one page with the English on the other and than two pages of a list of new words and phrases from the reading. Each story is broken up into small bite sized parts with each chapter representing each short story with a total of ten. The text is a very good size too. This seems to be the set up as I look through the pages. I find this to be really organized, clean and will do a really good job at keeping complete beginners such as myself from getting overwhelmed. A true beginner friendly book.

It’s been three weeks or so since i bought this book.I am an intermediate level learner and this is helping me out to keep in touch and improve my reading skills.I am learning a lot with Korean Unnie and her YouTube channel’s explanation videos.It is really so much fun and it feels like studying with a friend, so im really satisfied as far as I’ve tried and I’ll be looking forward for her future projects.

One of the things missing from most text books is pure reading practice. I find the limited vocab that textbooks focus on doesn't help with "sight" reading and comprehension. My reading speed has already started to increase with this book. This helps greatly and there are videos on youtube with Unnie reading the stories - great for practising reading along. This helps with pronunciation and word recognition. I highly recommend this book for any low intermediate level learner. Support Unnie - she's a great resource for Korean learners...

Um dieses Buch zu verstehen, braucht man etwas Hintergrundwissen: Die Autorin (gebürtige Koreanerin), die Sprachwissenschaft studiert hat, veröffentlicht auf Youtube unter dem Motto "Fun and Easy" einige hundert Videos, um die Grundlagen der koreanischen Sprache (und ein wenig die Kultur und Lebensweise) zu vermitteln. Derartige Videos gibt es natürlich wie Sand am Meer, aber die von Korean Unnie sind meiner Meinung nach bei weitem die Besten.Die Videos sind sprachlich weitgehend äquivalent mit den "professionelleren" Anbietern wie z.B. TTMIK, in der Gesamtheit aber nicht so strikt und präzise strukturiert. Das klingt eher schlecht, ist aber im Gegenteil sehr gut. Dadurch sind die Videos nicht so gähnend langweilig. Im Gegenteil, gerade weil sie nicht perfekt und steril sind (was die Autorin sicher absichtlich genau so macht), sind sie ungeheuer interessant und ansprechend. 수고하셨습니다!Dieses Buch ist die Druckausgabe einer Serie, in der die sie Kindergeschichten bzw. Volksweisen vorstellt, und dabei Satz für Satz aufschlüsselt und erklärt. Die Serie ist auf Youtube ebenfalls kostenlos, man bräuchte das Buch also streng genommen eigentlich nicht. Angesichts der ungeheueren Mühe, die die junge Frau sich dabei gibt (und man bekommt das alles für umsonst!), finde ich, man muss das Buch schon kaufen. Das Buch ist dessen ungeachtet auch inhaltlich sehr gut.Jeweils links ist der koreanische Text und rechts die englische Übersetzung abgedruckt. Die Übersetzung ist, anders, als man es vielleicht erwartet, exzellent (naja, wenn man Korean Unnie im Internet gesehen hat, ist das eigentlich keine Überraschung). Dazu gibt es auf der jeweils folgenden Seite dann die Vokabeln. Zusammen mit den Youtube Videos kann man das Buch Abschnitt für Abschnitt unter Anleitung abarbeiten, es gibt die Geschichten auch als Hörbuch zum Einschlafen ("listen while you sleep"). Die Autorin hat eine sehr angenehme Stimme und eine gute Aussprache (auch Englisch), und sie hat eine, wie soll man sagen... lebhafte, anregende Ausstrahlung. Das Motto "Fun and Easy" stimmt also vollkommen, es ist sehr gut umgesetzt.Von der Autorin gibt es noch ein zweites Buch ("100 Korean Dad Jokes"). Dieses spricht mich thematisch zwar nicht so richtig an (Dad Jokes finde ich eher albern), aber ich werde es mir schon aus Prinzip trotzdem kaufen.
