I have an aquatic turtle and while I keep her tank immaculate with weekly water changes/cleaning, there is a faint odor when you get too close to the tank.I didn't want something that would just "cover up" the smell, because then you'd get the odor AND some weird flowery fruity scent, so when I read the description that this chemically neutralizes or whatever smelly molecules I decided to try it . Also obviously the fact it is advertised as pet safe was the biggest factor that led me to choose this over other items.On week 3(?) now, and it's still working amazing. I don't smell any odor from the tank, even when I'm standing over it.The smell was strong the first three days but after it stopped being obnoxious, so I'd say this is a certified W. I will continue to buy this.

I can NOT handle smells. I want my house to smell like nothing. I cut a small corner on the film you're supposed to take off so only a little scent gets out at a time. When used this way, I'm very happy with the light scent. I think it works. I've bought several and will buy more.

A skunk died in our subfloor. Then it rotted. Then it's scent gland rotted and permeated the whole house with the fragrance of a 1000 skunks at once. The smell abatement has been horrendous. Inevitably after about a week - we figured out where in the subfloor it was (after cutting a few holes into the subfloor from the crawlspace.) Skunk removed. (Full gasmask necessary.) Then the insulation was removed. Then virucide applied and then a odor absorbing fogger.Ran fans indoors and in the crawlspace 24/7 for weeks. I mean WEEKS. It was still lingering because I'm pretty sure the skunks chemicals seeped into the porous wood and walls in the area of the house where it died.Here's my pretty positive review for this product: once the animal was removed this product was the most helpful in removing the lingering whiffs of skunk that would seep up into the house.However, to note - YOU MUST HAVE CIRCULATING AIR moving over the gel. It doesn't work effectively if it's just sitting there - we have a fan on low circulating over the pots of the odor absorbers and that is what is actively helping to mitigate the smell. The downstairs closet is the worst and I have six of these on the floor in there with a fan on low running 24/7. Even when I open the closet door (we've taken everything out of this closet too aside from the fan and the odor absorbers at this point), if the fan has been running over the air fresheners, I can't smell the skunk. If I leave the fan off for 24 hours, the skunk smell, which is definitely still releasing chemicals from where the smell seeped into, the skunk smell re-pugnifies the closet despite the odor absorbers. So yes, these work great, if and only if you have air circulating over them so their odor absorbing molecules can move around and bond with the skunk smell molecules to neutralize them. I find the smell of the product to be fine - I'd prefer no smell - but my comparison is the smell of 10,000 burning rubber tires over rotting flesh, so.... this is great. I hope this never happens to you. But if it does, remove and replace everything you can, then run fans (and keep all your windows open, we also do this) for forever and buy a lot of these to help mitigate the smell. I'm hopeful we're nearing the end of this plight, it is much better than it was six weeks ago but has required a ton of work (and $$$). May the force be with you.

The product does remove the pet smell, but it has to be shaken periodically in the jar to make it effective. It leaves its own smell behind, which is not offensive; however, I would prefer not to smell anything. I still need to find something that gets rid of the pet urine smell that was left behind by the previous renter’s pet.

For my thoughts on the product skip further down, but while it's a good product I probably won't buy this from Amazon again. Reason being they do not know how to ship it, even though I believe they know it is a risky product to ship.The crux is that the gel has a very weak, thin plastic casing. Said casing broke during shipping, spreading all the lovely wet gel everywhere within the box. The other items came bagged, which wasn't true for them in the past, so I suspect Amazon has had to reship the gel in the past due to its fragility...Although why they don't just bag the one thing that could spread everywhere makes no sense to me.Regardless of theories, Amazon does not know how to ship the product. If they ship the same way with anything delicate that isn't in a bag then the items will be ruined.Good news is that I could scrape much of the gel back into the flimsy home it is intended to dwell in, and can review the product itself w/o too much loss from my purchase. And the gel itself is good.Within a few hours the room with two litter boxes had lost the vague 'cattiness' that was floating around. I didn't want the lavender option, and the original had a pleasant odor that quickly dissipated. My two cats do occasionally participate in poop wars (leaving presents unburied in the other one's box, demanding retaliation and escalation) so the ultimate test is yet to be passed. That said I do appreciate what the gel has contributed so far. If I can find it elsewhere I'd purchase again.
