A must read!
THE STORY QUILT is an intelligent compilation of Indian regional stories for children of today translated from Assamese, Gujarati, Kannada, Kashmiri, Konkani, Maithili, Punjabi and Sindhi. This lovely collection is complimented by beautiful illustrations native to the region of the translated story.I loved reading these stories for their imaginative plot which is relatable to children of today be it a ghost who wishes to learn operating a computer, a clever traveler outsmarting a thief or the eccentricities of people one interacts with. This cleverly edited anthology highlights the fact that humans are creatures of habit and ambition, blessed with an imaginative mind.Curiosity and wit are two driving factors that make reading a worthwhile pursuit and these stories balance both elements in an absolutely simple and delightful manner. In my opinion this particular collection can be a great beginning to help introduce reading to young readers as the illustrations introduce native art forms depicting the stories along with the subtle wisdom from these magical stories.

An amazing book
At first I thought that this book would be boring because of the non-attractive cover page, but when I read it , it was more amazing than I thought. My favorite story was the Sindhi one, and the story that I did't like a lot was the Punjabi one. It was an amazing effort by the creation team.

Delightful stories!
A friend had gifted this book after I told her that I really wanted to read it. Interesting stories from different regions of India and the illustrated painting like drawings for each story was beautiful.

Gives due credit to the original authors as these are adapted versions
I expected these to be lovely stories with awesome insights into our culture. They are adapted versions of original stories and I could relate with some but not all. The first story disappointed me greatly and I guess I carried that impression through the rest of the book.
