Oak Aging Barrel From American Oak Barrel - Age Your Own Spirits (1 Liter, Natural Oak With Black Hoops)

Product is excellent.....both in quality and customer service. Owner of company caught error in order (my mistake) as he was leaving for the evening and called me directly to clarify what I really wanted! If there were more than 5 stars he would be receiving them both for quality andsuperior customer service!

This was a gift for my husband on his birthday. He was very pleased with it even though the spigot leaked. He contacted the cellar who immediately responded by sending out additional spigots. Great customer service!

Purchased two barrels and they will not seal after 12 days. Looked great when they fist came in but after just 12 days they look horrible from all the leaks reacting with the junk metal rings. Have been refilling these with water numerous times a day and have now used two sticks of barrel wax. They still leak and cannot be used.

I saw these all over St. Thomas, USVI. I'm glad I bought a couple. Well worth the price because the flavor after a few weeks is astounding!!

This ended up leaking. But it makes a wonderful planter. As long as you don’t have to carry it anywhere.

I just received the 5 liter barrel today, 3 Sep 15. it looks great. I filled it with water to cure and only see minimal seepage. I measured the water as I was filling and it seems about 400ml short of a full 5 liters. I'll check again after it's done curing to see if I measured wrong.. I expect to be aging bourbon in this thing very soon. will report later. 5 Sep update - the barrel is holding water nicely. There is still a little seep on the end where the tap is (see photo) and one other spot where this is a small knot in the wood (see photo) is damp but not enough to produce a drip. I believe these will both resolve. 6 Sep update - the barrel stopped seeping water. I dumped the water but forgot to measure how much was inside. I poured six new 750ml bottles of bourbon into the barrel and it was almost full so just to check I opened another bottle and poured until it reached the top. It only 50ml more. So the true size of my barrel is only 4.55 liters. I started at 5 stars but dropped to 4 stars because of the size difference. I also didn't like the stand that came with the barrel so I made a new one out of oak. I think it looks a lot better (see photo) and I haven't even varnished it yet. If an oak stand was offered vs. the pine I would have paid a little extra for a nicer stand since this is a display piece. And now the waiting begins.
