Fast - Accurate - Convenient - Easy to Read Numbers
I've purchased probably a half dozen of these wrist cuff blood pressure monitors over the past decade or two and they have never given repeatable or believable results. Positioning these wrist cuff blood pressure monitors usually makes a huge difference in the readings. I gave all those wrist BP monitors away so this HealthSmart monitor is the only wrist model I have now. I do own two arm cuff blood pressure monitors, one of which is the one I use most often. It correlates reasonably closely with results at my doctor’s office. However, it is clunky and not nearly as convenient to use as this HealthSmart model.I have been using this HealthSmart BP monitor regularly for about a week and most of the time it yields a proper result, but not every time. The HealthSmart wrist cuff blood pressure monitor pumps up within five or six seconds – very fast. It typically takes 24 seconds to finish taking the results and strangely much longer sometimes. Even so, it gives a proper result after it finally makes up its mind.I just now took five blood pressure readings after I had been sitting here at my computer quite a while. Two were with my arm cuff monitor and three are from this HeartSmart wrist cuff monitor. I’ll just list the results so you can see the differences. The readings came from both my left arm and my right arm. I tried to position the wrist cuff monitors exactly the same on both arms. One of the readings from the HealthSmart blood pressure monitor doesn’t look right, but I’ll list it anyway. It’s obvious to me that it’s not right because I know my blood pressure is almost never as low as 111. If it was, I’d feel like I was on the edge of losing consciousness. (It has happened.) So I repeated the test. This is a common trait for all wrist monitors I’ve owned in the past, usually far worse than this one though. Positioning is very critical to get a good and consistent result in my experience.HealthSmart111 – 65 Pulse 71 Left Wrist *I don’t believe this reading.127 – 77 Pulse 71 Left Wrist *Slightly repositioned.128 – 73 Pulse 70 Right WristArm Cuff Monitor139 – 79 Pulse 69 Left Arm133 – 78 Pulse 69 Right ArmI’ve kept a record of 230 blood pressure readings with my arm cuff monitor and the average is 136 – 76 and pulse of 66. I included some measurements taken at the doctor’s office with a mercury blood pressure monitor. The readings at the doctor’s office are usually consistent with my own long term measurements. However, there is often an anxiety factor to be considered in a doctor’s office. That can increase your blood pressure somewhat. The HealthSmart systolic pressure is a little lower than my arm cuff monitor, but not very much. I really hope this HealthSmart monitor is the most accurate, because the ideal systolic pressure is below 120. Diastolic pressure is ideally below 80. This HealthSmart monitor is small enough for me to take to the doctor’s office, so I’m going to start comparing the results in the future. I will take my own readings right after the nurse takes my blood pressure. I certainly hope this HealthSmart monitor is more accurate than my arm cuff model. The missing star is because it is not as consistent or repeatable as I think it should be.

Convenient to use
It reads a little lower that my arm cuff, but it's more consistent and easier to use.

Easy to Use but very INACCURATE
We bought this monitor to keep readings for Dr. My husband takes his BP daily for his records. Normally is 125 to 140 over 65 to 70.Today it was 233/96. Tried the other wrist, it was 233/96. We immediately came to hospital for fear of a stroke. The ER did his BP and it was 155/71, higher than normal but nowhere near what the cuff said. We are still at the hospital waiting on various tests to be completed. I will definitely be returning this unit if there are no problems found. This scared the begeezees out of us. If a problem is found, we will get it calibrated and keep it and update my review.

not dr quality, but good enough to keep an eye on between visits. great for one-sided handicap
i can't use an arm cuff so i appreciate the wrist alternative. i will come back and rerate after i've had a chance to calibrate at dr's office.if u r in the market for one, pay the extra $$ and get one that wont work unless your elbow is at right height/angle. it's hard for me to do alone.

Don't buy this unit!
It is totally inaccurate. It repeatedly showed a blood pressure of over 210 - 230 when in fact it was 130 as shown on my pro unit. Awful! And no return allowed!
