Low cost fix for a faulty fan - quick and easy repair on BMW E36
My E36 323i's heater fan wasn't working, which is a common issue. Amazon Garage sometimes has parts at remarkable prices - in this case, the Hella fan resistor pack can be as little as 1/10th of the cost from a dealer, which is amazing!Fitting it is quite straightforward on RHD cars - remove the passenger footwell trim and the resistor pack is on the heater box, about halfway up near the vent outlet, towards the bulkhead. It's not hard to find and a torx bit in a ratchet drive will fit in there easily to remove it. Plug and play!I've bought a couple so I always have spares - at the current price it seems daft not to. It's a proper OEM part, not a third-party thing; Hella make these things for BMW.

Defective item. FSU stopped working after 30-40 minuets of use.
Defective item. FSU stopped working after 30-40 minuets of use. Checked all the fuses and connectors they were fine. Sometimes it works 10 minutes after starting the car and then just stops.

BMW E39 Heater Blower Resistor
Sometime Amazon does an amazing bargain deals. It looks like a genuine product with all the labels for the price of less than fiver. Direct replacement for a E39 2002, few weeks after installation it works as it should. For that sort of price I bought 2. Well pleased.

Es werden alle BMW / MINI Anforderungen für Wartung und Instandhaltung erfüllt."Der wechsel ging an meinem e46 320i flott und nun läuft auch endlich das Gebläse wieder. Das ist nun schon mein zweiter Igel von Hella. Der erste ist in meinem '00er e39 523i verbaut.Ich verstehe die Probleme und Aussagen der Leute, die meinen es würde nicht passen. Der Einbau ist ein wenig knifflig und mann muss schon richtig ansetzen damit die Gebläseendstufe richtig sitzt.Die Originale Kennzeichnung ist: HEL-5HL 351 321-511Für den e36, e46, e39, X3 e83(LCI) sowie X5 E53 sollte der Regler jedenfalls geeignet sein sofern das Kfz eine Klimaautomatik besitzt. Wie es bei der normalen Klimaanlage aussieht kann ich nicht zu 100% sagen. Die aufgezählten Modelle sind damit jedoch kompatibel.
