Kept meaning to come back to update. I no longer recommend this hose. Of my original 2 hoses, one sprung a several leaks at about the 3 month mark despite only occasional very careful use as a front porch watering hose and at 5 months broke at the attachment to the sprayer- basically just popped off during use and can no longer connect. The second one fared somewhat better however today at the 9 month mark it actually exploded while I was washing the car. At the time I purchased the hoses they were $34.95 so I'm out $70. I do not recommend the hoses, they are not "heavy duty" and as much as I appreciated the ease of having a non heavy hose to do simple things like wash the car or bathe the dogs, it turned out to be a complete waste of money.Original review, July 2016: Got two of these hoses mid July and I'm giving them 4 stars for now pending an update after a more extended period of use. For what it is meant to be, the hose is great. It is lightweight but the casing of the hose seems durable and the connections are solid. Getting the sprayer was a plus. We have several heavy duty 50 ft hoses in various locations (got them at Costco) but they are just unnecessarily big and heavy for certain jobs. Often, after use, the hoses would retain 50 feet of water that had to be carefully drained otherwise the area would flood. As far as the Kona hoses, one is on a front porch and is used for watering some plants that don't have sprinklers and the other is connected where we bathe the dogs. Watering some plants and bathing the dogs with these hoses has been a pleasant experience and when the job is done, you don't have to worry that there is a ton of water still in the hose because you can see it contracting.I think I appreciated the hose most when bathing the dogs. As compared to our regular hose this one felt super light. The hoses are kept connected but coiled in a storage bucket so protected somewhat from the elements. I would rate them 5 stars but prefer to wait to see how they do over time. One last comment, this hose are not for you if you need high pressure output, think of it more as a convenient hose for light duty tasks..

Why would the seller not include this statement in the description before you buy this item. Received this separate email after the sale.FAQ's :1) I've heard that these types of hoses can be fragile. Here are some tips:When you first use your hose, do not turn on water to it's maximum. Turn your hose bib on halfway, and see if the hose expands fully. If it doesn't, then add a little more pressure.Do not leave the hose full of pressure. When not in use, let the water out of the hose.Do not pull hard on the hose to make it longer, if your water pressure is above 4 bars, it will expand naturally.Do not expand the hose without water in it.Do not leave the hose in direct sunlight, or extreme temperatures.Do not drag the hose on rough or sharp ground, or around sharp corners.Sounds like you must handle this item with extreme care; oh well its in the mail.

So sorry to report that this is the third product of this kind that I've tried, and the third that performed beautifully for about a month and then BURST. The inner rubber expandable lining that makes the product so ingenious is too fragile for daily use. My third hose is going back and unfortunately I won't be reordering anything like it.

I purchased this hose in early July 2017 and it split in the middle in late July 2018. I contacted the company and as it was out of warranty, one year, they said they could do nothing about replacing the hose. Fair enough, a one year warranty is one year. My problem is that the hose isn't very good. I've not abused it, in fact not even used it that much. It's in my back yard, carefully curled up, not in the sun and pretty much pampered. I don't leave it under pressure and probably haven't used it more than two dozen times in the year. It didn't break at the ends where one would expect wear but it just split in the middle which means the inner hose liner was just weak and failed. I've heard of other problems with this type of hose and I have 2 other, from different manufacturers, that haven't given me any problems yet so it may just be this is a sub-standard quality hose. I would strong recommend that you try some other brand as this one is clearly not very good.

This is the 2nd hose that failed after 3 months. Not in direct sunlight and in the mild winter climate. 30 wrranty is clearly insufficient, unless you want to spend more money on a warranty. I used to be y0our biggest fan.

I bought 2 of these based upon very high reviews. I have had them only a short time. The inlet fitting has only about a 1/4" hole in it which compared regular garden hoses is like comparing as fire hose to a drinking straw. This equates to very little flow. The hose readily kinks. A fifty foot hose is fifty feet when measured. Not these fifty foot hoses. You have to hook one end up to your trailer hitch and stretch it like crazy. No one should have a tug of war match with a hose to use it full length. One hose ruptured with the 35 psi water pressure I have and the other is used to water potted plants and it takes forever to get enough water to the plants.

Loved this hose for the short time I had it until it split just below the nozzle. This hose was kept in a protected area and not abused at all. Do not buy this one! No point in spending extra money to get a hose that you think will hold up better, might as well get the cheapest one. (of course it is past the refund date) Have contacted seller to see if they honor their one year "hassle free" warrantee.UPDATE: Changed rating from 1 to 3 stars because I contacted seller and within 6 hours they had refunded my money for the broken hose. Will give seller 5 stars for their handling of the problem.
