Worst business dealing I’ve ever had!!!
I ended up finding Tacey when I found a ring I wanted made and the design owner lived in Greece and wanted to to send him the money as a friend on PayPal. I knew this would cancel out my buyers protection so I told him no. He continued messaging me trying to prove he was legit and name dropped Tacey as the person who would be making the ring. I saw she was stateside so I figured I would message her and ask about the status of said person. She confirmed he was legitimate and quoted me her price for the labor. I found that I could buy the design and have Tacey make it cheaper than what the designer was charging me so that’s the option I chose. I wanted the ring as a bday present but was told she couldn’t make the deadline which is completely understandable considering the covid pandemic. I received the ring and it had a few places that was distorted but I decided to let that go. The price I paid for the ring was quoted in an amount per gram of silver with a base price for casting and I higher amount for casting and finishing plus other aspects such as enamel. That price combined with the printing price for the 3D model design plus postage. I chose a pretty heavy amount of silver on account of the price she quoted me which was very decent. I had another ring made with the same weight and the ring I received from Tacey seemed a good bit less than the other. I weighed the ring and found it was 8 grams short of the initial weight we had previously discussed. I could look past a few finishing flaws also a slight shortage on the weight but not that extreme of an amount. I contacted Tacey and asked her about the agreed upon weight and price and she acknowledged that it was correct. I went on to say that when I weighed the ring it fell 8 grams short and asked her why I still paid the price for the agreed weight but was not given that weighted amount. She then became annoyed and told me to send the ring back for a refund instead of trying to fix the situation like most professionals in her line of work. I told her I wanted the ring I just wanted an explanation as to why I paid for a specific weight but did not receive said weight. She then proceeded to tell me that the price she quoted me was only said amount because she assumed I was the owner of a jewelry store and someone who would continue repeat business. What I gathered from that email was she quoted me a price based on her assumption I was a wealthy owner of a jewelry store who would be able to spend large amounts of cash for her business but later figured out I was just a regular guy who wanted a ring made. She had already quoted me a price and couldn’t go back on her word so instead slighted me the weight in silver to make up for her hasty assumption of my wealth. This is the person who you’re planning to do business with. I have never felt more cheated and insulted in any seller/buyer situation in my entire life. Especially since I was willing to look past the finishing flaws and also continue to be calm and understanding when I came to the realization that she slighted me 8 grams of silver which is a significant amount. Be wary of using her and if you do make sure to have a jewelry scale waiting and ready.
