Just the job for modellers
Firstly, this is a solid piece of equipment; no cheap plastic bits. It is very sturdy and once in a position that suits you, it stays in position. The magnifier is superb and the light is fantastic; very bright and even. It is advertised as having over 50,000 hours of life. Well, maths is not my strong point, but I think 50,000 hours works out to 5 years 7 months - and that is IF you left the light on for 24 hours a day, every day, which of course you won't do. So, if they are correct in quoting 50,000 hours, then I'm looking forward to many years of use. Let's see. So far, I love it.

Sturdy and knows its place
Grips the side of my desk like a lion with a gazelle. It's not going anywhere. Had it a year and the arm mechanism is as strong as a baboon that goes to the gym every day. The light works well. Magnification does indeed magnify. Top class.

Great value
This has to be the best value magnifier lamp I've seen. Nice bright light and just enough magnification for my aging eyes. Great not to have separate power supply. It does put out a fair amount of RF intereference, which nearby radios pick up.

Brilliant!
I bought this lamp to do nails and it’s perfect to use instead of having to put on my reading glasses to see the small detail. It is quite heavy so you need a secure surface to attach the clamp to and you need to look directly through the centre to avoid distortion also its big to store. If you have somewhere you can leave it set up it’s ideal, bright light and very good magnification, great value for money.

Good quality illumination for a worktop
A good compromise between cost, size and quality. Just about a long enough reach for my worktop. The key asset is the ease of positioning. It is easy to move into position and it stays in place! Very bright. The lens cover is good (and needed if you want to avoid the risk of sunlight causing burns or worse). Good quality glass lens. Very happy with this lamp.

Great for miniature painting.
I bought this lamp as my magnifying goggles hurt my nose after long sessions. This lamp is nice and bright and has a good level of magnification (enough to see small miniature models clearly, but not so much that you have to hold the model so close to the lens due to the focal length that you can't get your brush in).

Brilliant light for close-up working.
Bought this to replace my old fluorescent one which had worn out after much use. There were a lot of makes to choose from and most were cheaper, but I decided this one looked sturdy enough for my use. As it turns out, I think I made the right choice as it is a joy to work with. The lens can be positioned over a large desk area and stays in place whilst working and the light is much brighter than my old one. It does have a G type clamp at the base of the arm so a sturdy worktop is needed to clamp it to. Clamp opens to slightly more than 2" so should fit a wide range of tabletops. I don't know how any of the other makes perform but I would certainly recommend this one to anybody doing intricate work on small objects, as I think it will last a good few years to come.

Great light with good sized magnifying lens
We had one previously (not this brand) where the lamp was powered from usb power supply. Found that the lamp was not really bright enough. As this is powered direct from 240v the wattage of the led assembly is increased which makes all the difference. The thin ness of the lens and lamp assembly is nice as well.Only minor niggle is that is that it’s arms are not as long as some others (not by much) and that it’s a bit pricier. That being said it was worth the extra.
