Sparkling Gems from the Greek: 365 Greek Word Studies for Every Day of the Year to Sharpen Your Understanding of God's Word

I have bought both Volumes I and II of Sparkling Gems. I wish every Christian could receive these books when they are first saved! Others critiqueing these books have given wonderful details of what's provided in these books. I'll just say that I consider Rick Renner to be my mentor. He has helped and encouraged and at times brought conviction to every area of my life where I struggle. He covers every area of daily Christian living there is! He covers everything you need for the rest of your life to become a good Christian! These books are daily devotionals, but I do not read these one day at a time. I just read through and cover many days in one sitting. I actually get excited to do my devotionals each day! I can spend hours devouring the wonderful spiritual food in these books! These two books are bringing change into my life....for real! I will be rereading these over and over until Jesus returns! :) If my house were on fire...I'd grab my Bible and these two books!!! I love Rick Renner!!! PLEASE, if you can, get yourself these books!!!

I love this study book. I first bought this book back in 2007 after Rick Renner spoke at our church. I have used it regularly all of these years as one of my study helps in my Bible studies, and in preparing lessons for my classes. I have found it to be very informative and interesting. I have learned much from this book. This book is set up as a devotional style, one lesson for each day of the year. The format of each lesson is that Rick takes a scripture (which is printed at the beginning of each lesson), and he explains what the full meaning of that scripture is by giving the original Greek words and their meanings. It is written in an easy to understand way, and is very interesting. It's not just a dry teaching of a bunch of Greek words and their meanings. He uses examples from his own life as well to get the message across. In the back of the book they give lists you can follow. There is a list of the Greek words studied with the English word in parentheses, along with the page number where that word is found, for if you want to do a Greek word study There is a list of the English words with the Greek word inparentheses to make it easier to find what you are looking for. There is also a list of scriptures that he uses in the studies along with their page numbers, for if you want to do a study on a particular scripture (this is generally how I use the book). I have given this book as gifts to several friends and pastors and teachers, and they have all loved this book. Although Rick Renner is very scholarly in his knowledge of the Greek language and of the Bible, this book is very easy to understand for the average person. I have read several of Rick's books and he has spoken at our church several times over the past years, and I have enjoyed each book. I especially like his book titled "Dressed to Kill", which is a study on the Armor of God. It also is very interesting and very informative. One thing you will discover when reading Rick's other books is that, because he is so knowledgeable about the Greek language of the Bible, is that he will explain the original Greek meanings of scriptures that he refers to in his books. I find this to be very helpful and interesting.

Rick Renner helps us understand the New Testament by explaining the real meaning of the Greek text. If you want to study the Word in depth, you need this book!

This has to be the best book ever written! I absolutely love this book! I have given this book to so many friends!But even more this book seller is amazing. This book was written as “good condition” but it is in excellent condition. If you want to buy books buy from them!

I have wanted to get to know the original Hebrew and Greek texts of the Bible for a while as I had a desire to know what the Bible REALLY says. This text does not disappoint. It is full of mini teachings from the New Testament that go into the original Greek text and shows what the Bible was saying when it was written. It is fabulous. At the front of the text it gives the title of every single mini teaching in the book and the page reference, so if you wanted to look at it by topic instead of date then you could. At the back it gives all of the English - Greek word translations and it also lists every scripture referenced in the New Testament and what page number that discussion is on. It is not just a daily devotional it is an incredibly useful tool and reference book to use when you are looking at something and you would like to know the original Greek. It is amazing.The quality of the book is amazing, the picture on the front cover is beautiful. It is a huge hard-back book and it is worth every penny of what you spend on it. It is something I will prize and look after and use for the rest of my life and when you think about it like that you realise it is not that expensive either. I will definitely be buying Volume 2 when I have used this for a year.Rick Renner is an amazing teacher, pastor and historian. His translations are so accurate and so on the ball that I truly think he should write his own translation of the whole New Testament. I think it would fly off the shelves!If you want to know what the BIble originally said when it was written, then buy this book!

This is one of the best Spiritual books I have read and I would suggest everyone who wants to have a serious conversion experience and a closer walk with the Lord should buy this and keep it next to your Bible. Every page just speaks to you as if the Lord Himself were speaking to you. It can be used to read the reading of the day on a daily basis or it is one of those books that you can just pick up and open on any page and you can be guaranteed that the reading will be appropriate to the situation you are in at that precise moment! Rick Renner is a great writer and has obviously immersed himself in prayer and fasting to deliver such a masterpiece. I loved mine so much I have now bought it on kindle so that I have it with me at all times.

Since I purchase this book, I have used it every morning as my daily devotional. It has tremendously changed my life. Rick Renner has presented the New Testament Greek in such a simple and understandable manner that anybody can understand. I have been using some of the explanation of the GK to encourage others. I am also spreading the news about such a gem. It is really too good to keep quiet about. Everday I am amazed at some of the explanations and I do believe that the English Bible is lacking very much in its translation. It has given me a desire to look into the Greek for myself as well as the Hebrew. Pastor Rick, you are a gem for giving us such a book.
