Another great historical novel by Natasha Lester
Natasha Lester is to be commended for researching and writing novels based upon real life women in World War II. This wasn't as good as The Paris Seamstress - the "present day" character Remy Lang was weak and not at all a tribute to those who came before her.

A MUST READ!
A WWII novel based on facts that Famous art works were confiscated from Paris museums and Jewish family’s. Takes place in 1940’s and present day! One of the best novel I have read….historical and a bit of a love story. I look forward to reading all of Natasha Lester’s books.

A page turner
I wasnt sure what to expect reading this book. I knew it was set during the war and it was about art but that was it. It takes place over a long period of time. I like how the first part of the book was set during the war while the second half is split during the war and in the future to 2015. Very well written and it kept me immersed in what was happening.

Engrossing story
Engrossing story for art and WWII historical fiction readers. I learned a lot about what went on in the art world at that time because that portion of the story was based on fact.

Another amazing and well stood story!!!
At the end of each one of Natasha Lester's books, I am sure it is the best one and my favorite. And then, I open another one. What will I do when I have read them all?

Disconnected Past and Present
WWII Nazi Art Theft meets Cheesy Modern Romance. Really a stretch. Not sure reason writers today think they have to do the dual time instead of writing in an easily understandable straight timeline. The historical aspects of this book can stand on merit alone as an authentic novel set in WWII and centering on the Nazi theft of artwork and the attempts by the Resistance to foil it. The modern day romance is just fluff, unnecessary and with no real connection to the historical other than a rather trumped up character that accidentally finds her ancestry. This part reads like a cheap romance novel full of sex and drama. Better books available on Nazi Art Theft and the Resistance.

Such a sad but riviting story
What a sad but engrossing story set in two time periods:1940's and present day. Lots of twists and turns that had me on the edge of my seat.

A disappointing read.
I found this book very hard to get into & was going to give up but thought I'll get through to the modern day & it'll take hold. I found some parts unlikely, as why would Remy only find out about this house/her house after a tragedy. Why did She be curious about Her birth parents before now. Strands were confusing, then all of a sudden hurriedly pulled together. As for the ending, it was so abrupt but the Epilogue was so downbeat you needed another one to end it on a hopeful note.It seems that too much time was given to the past that not enough pages were left to expand the storyline for the present. You were left abruptly with Remy at hospital to be taken to the Epilogue at a concentration camp. No explanation of how Adam's family problem was resolved or the family meeting the new member. The Art thread was interesting, but a book that stretched out too much in chapters.

Seldom so lightweight...
Nazi art theft has been written about many times but never, in my experience, has it been dealt with so superficially. To give the subject the full consideration it deserves would require a writer with more intellectual weight and gravitas than is found here.Next thing you know; Bananarama will be singing Beethoven's 9th!

Couldn’t put it down, a really great read,
One of those books that seem to cover all of life’s ups and downs, hope there are more books like this in the line.
