The Day the Screens Went Blank

I think this book was great!
The book was really great for me (I'm eight years old) because I am addicted to screens so this book is definitely me! I love all the humour in this book especially the bit where they try to sneak out of the pub but get caught by the rude women, that was so funny. I don't know how the screens went blank though.

Fantastic and funny
Our son is approaching 11 but has learning difficulties so has only recently graduated fromPhonics. It is hard to find a book which is entertaining and appealing to himBut also accessible and not overwhelming. This is brilliant, the chapters are not too long (we split in half as stillBuilding stamina when reading). There is a whole adult humour undertone which makes reading together far more enjoyable than Biff Chip, Kipper and their blasted magic key.

Wake up call .
A fun way to reflect on our dependance / addiction to screens in all forms big and particularly small. A lot of humour and not at all moralistic. We all can identify to all characters who are so very us . I can imagine the book as part of a class / school discussion - any age big and small / pupils, students AND teachers, headteachers alike - ...... followed by a big class / all school project .Life is good just as living it, breathing it in and out.

Great book
This is a great book. Kept the child interested, laughing/giggling and encoraged the habit of reading more. We've since been to our local book shop to try and find similar books as the child has caught the reading bug instead of being on technology. Thank you to the author!
