This is a great color. I read reviews before I bought, but they didn’t seem like anything I couldn’t handle. The only con I’d say so far is that my hair has never been so snarled after using an after dye conditioner.The reviews said that the products burns. It doesn’t have to. I have a really sensitive scalp, so I waited five days after washing my hair to use it. The product says to wash your hair before use. Absolutely not. If you have trouble with box color, do not wash your hair and add a little “sweet n low”into the dye. It helps.The reviews said that it’s messy. It’s not. It’s no different than any other dye. Make sure you have some kind of plastic/glass bowl and a dye brush, although the box I got came with a dye brush. The dye itself is thick, so as long as you’re not flinging it around, it is not messy.The reviews said that the product was leaving traces of red on their pillows, etc. if you are not fully drying your hair after dying it… your fault. And if it is fully dry, you’ve clearly done something wrong in the rinsing process.The reviews warned that it stains your skin. Put a little bit of Vaseline below your hairline, like any other dye, but everything washed off me and I am very pale. I do recommend, like other reviews to get your own gloves though, nitrile, because the gloves provided by any box dye just automatically suck.Definitely would recommend this product for a nice, bright, red.

Love that this product is so gentle on my fine hair. Other brands made my scalp sting but this was perfect. While the applicator brush tended to get tangled in my hair a little, and using a bowl required care not to drip, I suppose it is a trade off for the low cost. Color looks beautiful and covers grey easily. After several uses my hair looks and feels healthier.
