Ace Attorney - Complete Season 1 - Essentials

Glad to have it in my collection.

The picture quality is crisp and the sound is clear. The set comes with a digital voucher redeemable for those with a Funimation account.The only thing is, the code I received was for Season 2. So buying this set essentially gave me access to the whole series. This has to be a mistake.

it comes with 3 variations of subtitles/audio (from what I’ve seen): the English dub, English Sub w/ English names, and English Sub w/ Japanese names. It’s the complete first three games!

This is exactly what you'd expect, the first 2 of the ds trilogy of phoenix wright turned to anime with just enough cuts that it still remains true to the games but cutting out scenes that arent needed. This does cause the anime to go at a faster pace, but you lose out on some character moments like in the game presenting wrong evidence or flavor text for talking to others. In the anime it forces phoenix to make all the correct decisions which cuts out what made phoenix wright great which is the flavor text for when you are fooling around or want to see the reaction if you presented wrong evidence, but they are strapped for time in an anime and have to get to the point.Another major flaw is there is a 30 sec-1 min 30 sec unskippable ads at the beginning of each disc (yes each disc) so you will have to waste about 4 min being unable to even reach the menu of the disc which is unacceptable for something you paid for. Also, the subs have 3 version which is very annoying as the english dub changes the name of the characters and adds dialogue due to characters still talking so they had to extend what the characters said just so it matches the mouth movements. This also means that 2 of the subs for eng doesnt match exactly and you have to pick version 3 of the sub just so the subs match and thats not the default (the default is not even close to subbing what the eng ver is saying and it is distracting)if you are also a fan of the games you know what phoenix should sound like, as he has a voiced line when you said hold it or objection, the voice they picked for phoenix sounds nothing like that and since he is the main character, it is very distracting and edgeworth as well doesnt sound anything like his game counterpart. This is made more obvious when phoenix or edgeworth have to say objection and it sounds nothing like the game voice sample. I am mostly disapointed in this anime and can see why it is so mixed. And even if you somehow like this anime due to how true it is to the games, you have about 4-5 min unskippable ads that you have to go through, best to go use the restroom while booting the disk up or grab a drink as it wont let you skip those and it is per disk, when watching it on crunchyroll doesnt force this much unskippable ads over a product makes me disappointed espeically since the anime they are advertising wont be relevant years later and if you wanted to watch this anime, force you to waste time watching unskippable ads on each disk (ya all 4 of them)overall 4/10 or 2/5 anime, underwhelming....just play the games if you want to experience the story.

The cases are a bit condensed and some really good lines were left out (none of Wendy Oldbag's lines were cut, don't worry). Psyche locks were broken but never explained. Maya seems more immature than in the game (she whines a bit) and Pearl Fey is an epic cutie.Good for fans, but non-fans might not be impressed.

It’s a fun little series that goes as over the top as the games it’s based off of and I thank them for that.

Incredibly faithful and just as tense, Ace Attorney follows the games to a T, with a few dialogue changes but they basically mean the same thing. The opening song is so catchy and fun and the characters (though with the English dub can sound a bit weird) are just as fun! The cases are dramatic and tense, using the formula you use to beat the game but every moment you can sense that something's about to go wrong. Every hate able character has the biggest punching face you can find in a Japanese medium and everyone you want to cheer on are so endearing, interesting and likable. This is the first anime I've seen and what an anime to get interested in and join along with the fun. All the same, no "Objection!"s for this 10/10 anime with memes and memories to boot!

Great quality, voice acting is livable but the one annoying thing is the "locked" advertisement that starts when you insert the disc and can't be skipped - c'mon really?

As someone who loves ace attorney and BTW the additional episodes are written by the series creator shu takumi I really wanted a physical copy of the blu Ray despite being ntsc and me living in the UK (I've asked funimation a ton of times if it will ever be available in pal regions with no response) but it never left the US, got lost in a delivery centre there. I did get the refund but would have much rather had the blu Ray and too worried it'll happen again to try re-order.

タイトル『逆転裁判（シーズン1） -その「真実」異議あり！-』ディスク4枚/24話/16:9/1080p一般的な国内プレイヤーで再生出来ます（再生環境/SONYの2015年～の最廉価プレイヤー『BDP-S1500』）。タイトルで日本語音声を選択し、字幕を《OFF》にすれば、後は普通に鑑賞する事が出来ます。映像特典は、カットシーン・コメンタリー・ノンテロップOP&ED・他作品のトレイラーです。キャラが強烈で演出が派手なので、サスペンス裁判ものにちょっとしたバトルアクションが加わっています。殺人事件を取り扱った物語なのに、霊媒やら衝撃波やらのぶっ飛び設定。そしてコミカルな所も多々見られますが、元が続編を出しまくっているゲームだけあって、起承転結がしっかりしており、話しの芯の部分に関しては硬派です（シーズン1の最終回は良かった…）。そうは言っても子供向けなので突っ込み所も多いですが、『名探偵コ●ン』を楽しめる人ならば普通に楽しめる作品かと。本商品は北米版『Ace Attorney: Complete Season 1』を1つにまとめたお得なセット商品なので（その名残でディスクが4枚になってます）、後発のセット商品である『Ace Attorney: Complete Season 2』と合わせて購入すると、『逆転裁判』を全話鑑賞する事が出来ます。
