THE HARLEM PLUG: The Richard 'Fritz' Simmons Story Paperback – Import, 4 April 2021

This book was an excellent read! If you arev interested in the upcoming of New York City/ Harlem This is definitely a must read. If you know about Alpo then you must learn about Richard fritzsimmons!I’m not a huge reader normally on occasions I pick up a book I came across this book and was definitely interested and couldn’t wait to start. Once I started I could not put the book down I read it within a weeks time. After I read the book I reached out on Instagram to the author Harlem holiday and just wanted to express how I loved the book so much. She’s a great person and responded back and I think that’s shows great character fir even responding back and thanking me! So overall the book is a 10 out of 10 stars definitely recommended go out and buy now!!

An incredibly bland read. Lots of short sentences recounting various instances without anything to really describe the scene.Very bad writing indeed. I did finish it though and found it interesting that a drug dealer was a hero...... probably not to all the broken lives created by the drugs....... and the murdered people because of the drugs......... and the children in care because of the drugs. A hero all the same.

Thank you for telling this story and revealing the story behind the story. It is sad how so many of us were caught by the trappings of life in the 80s. Seeing all these details being revealed, puts all of it into perspective. Author Harlem Holiday does an EXCELLENT job of laying it out for those who were in and around Harlem during this time, as well those who just want an inside understanding of why so many in our community became addicted to the money or the drug itself. In the 80s, New York City was falling apart. This book serves as a reminder of how many of us saw money, as a way up or out, because we were living in an environment that offered little hope.

Overall a pretty good read , the authors prongs the pages to life the only minus is yes there is a lil to much about Sheila Fritz sister but what do u expect it’s been somewhat 30 years or so ain’t no one around from that time to tell it
