Watercolor Pencils 48-Colors - Aquarelle - Water-Soluble - Set of 48

I wanted to make a piece of art for a good friend who lost his dad a year ago, but I'm not very talented artistically. I found a cool art tutorial on youtube that used water color pencils, but the set that the artist used was very expensive. I did a lot of cost comparison between brands of watercolor pencils, before deciding to buy these, as this set gave the most 'bang for the buck' from a cost and variety of colors offered perspective.I'm VERY satisfied with these water color pencils. They draw smoothly as any colored pencil would, even more smooth than normal colored pencils, as there is a silkiness to them I assume is caused by the paint. When you add water, they blend beautifully, and just enough to spread color without breaking down the lines. Adding more water can make lines soft enough to disappear, if that's the effect you want. The colors are bright and vibrant, and can be softened with water, or left vibrant with less water. These pencils made learning to use watercolors a very easy experience, you can get absolutely beautiful pictures with minimal talent or effort. They sharpen easily without much breakage, as you often see with cheap colored pencils.Very worth the price, this brand is the one I'm sticking with!

FIRSTLY, don't make my mistake. The reviews on this product are for both regular color and also watercolor pencils (twice the price). When mine arrived I was suspicious that the package did not say "watercolor". Nor did it include the nifty sharpener as some reviewers show, no biggie though because I wanted to store them in a craft case.Mine definitely do not improve with water. They pretty much disappear. That however is my own fault for not being careful in my ordering. So. No minus stars for that.Everything about them is Ok. The pencil tips were pre-sharpened (good) and none were seriously broken, only one was a little chipped (very very good). As for smoothness, I've seen much better but they are not at all bad. As for colors, I really prefer more saturation and vividness! But the selection of different colors is excellent. I would definitely purchase this as a set for kids, and it's priced very appropriately. I'm sure I can use these for shading. So... not what I was hoping for, in several ways. But a tolerable purchase.

I love the pencils the variations of each color is what I wanted. I might buy them again. Except:The tips break. A lot. Pretty much everyone I sharpen. I read this in another preview, butThe 5 star reviews out weighed that one.Still using them but don't sharpen all the way.

Since I tried these water based pencils I'm having so much fun coloring, drawing, & painting with water brushes! I'm so glad have added these to my tools! Use a quality metal hand sharpener and you can maintain these points how you like. I am finding that I am using them up faster than regular colored pencils. The way they glide and produce vibrant color is wonderful!

They not wordless pencils. They have wood on them. the pencils are colored pencils. they are worth coloring with.

About all that can be said of these is that they are pencils. But aside from that, the price reflects the quality. I would possibly use them as testers on something before you're ready to use your good pencils. They aren't anything like other brands of woodless pencils you might have used before.

Not exactly woodless. There are better brands out there that give you a more vivid color and a broader variety. These are just like regular colored pencils with the exception that I have better regular color pencils than this. I would not recommend these, not worth the money.
