An Excellent Ghostly Mystery!
Read this book in 2010, and its the 12th volume of this wonderful "Hugh Corbett" series, from Paul Doherty.Once again set in the year AD 1303, during the Reign of King Edward I, we head out with Hugh Corbett to the village of Melford.Over there a local lord has been executed for quite a few vicious murders, but not before long the killings start all over again. Now the son of the local lord begins a case of miscarriage of justice against the village, and because of that Hugh Corbett is summoned to investigate these cases of murder.Soon Hugh Corbett finds out that these murders have already been going on for the last five years, and this serial killer must be stopped now, before the next victim is chosen. And so in a race against time Hugh Corbett must use his wits, cunning and determination to stop this vicious killer, and after some dangerous encounters, followed by a magnificently executed plot he will be able to reveal and catch the culprit of all these hideous murders.Highly recommended, for this is another fantastic addition to this amazing series, and that's why I like to call this episode: "An Excellent Ghostly Mystery"!

What a revelation
Are there two perpetrators or one Why was the Lord of Milford sentenced to hang and that carried out? Oh what a tangled web we weave - when it's the intention to deceive! Yet another touch of genius from the master storyteller of medieval history and murder.

Another well written book
I love the way Paul Doherty weaves all the threads of his stories so that plots and sub plots all come together. In this instance, even though there is more than one perpetrator it all links up. And although I guessed one of the killers I certainly didn't guess the other till almost the end.

Always well written
Another engaging and unexpected plot from the author. Can't always recognize a clue when I see it and still can't work out whodunit. Great stuff.

The treason of ghosts
Another Hugh Corbett mystery for him to gnaw and eventually solve. He is resolute in seeking the truth for the King but also in his strong belief in God and justice for the victims.

The Treason of the Ghosts (Hugh Corbett Mysteries 12)
I love the Hugh Corbett Mysteries and think that Paul Doherty is a brilliant writer, he makes the stories gripping from start to finish. I love the interplay between Hugh and Ranulf but I do wish that Ranulf sometimes could play a bigger part in the books, even though you know he is there it would be nice for him to be more involved still that being said I can't wait for the next instalment and am just about to order it keep them coming Mr Doherty!

Great
I have just started this book and, as usual=, Doherty doesn't disappoint with this Hugh /corbet Medieval Mystery. Quite gruesome at times, but there are so many twists and turns and red herrings that it is totally unputdownable - highly recommended.
