Great mount for SBC SWP driver's side high
After swapping out my engine the previous alternator bracket didn't really fit the way I wanted (lower bracket wrapped around #1 header and an arm from the head to the alternator), so the search started. I could find all kinds of brackets for driver's side low and passenger side, and don't even get me started on long water pumps. I was about ready to buy a March bracket from Summit but it was going to cost $200. After looking at this one and reading the reviews I decided to give it a go. As others have stated there are no instructions so photos from previous reviews helped some. Getting the alternator mounted was pretty tight so took some gentle persuasion (rubber mallet). Anyway, here are a few helpful tips:1. - The 2 larger blocks make up the lower bracket. Bolt these together first (I initially mounted one to the head only to have to remove it in order to mount the other piece to hold the bottom of the alternator)2. - Mount the lower bracket to the alternator3. - There is another curved block (top bracket), bolt this to the top of the alternator. This is where the tension arm will bolt to.4. - Ensure your belt is positioned around all pullies.5. - Bolt the tensioning arm to the top bracket and the other end to the intake manifold. One reviewer used the top bolt of the lower bracket. While this would work, the brackets are drilled to allow the socket hex head bolts to go inside of the bracket for a much cleaner look.Note: I did have to use one of the spacers on the intake manifold to help push the tension rod out a bit.Overall I'm very happy with this purchase and the final installation.

This works for a short water pump.
This looks like a sturdy piece. It's nice and shiny. I'm using it on a 88 Camaro with a 383. Short water pump with factory heads. I'm sure aftermarket heads will work as well as long as the bolt holes are present. I used a 55 inch fan belt (Dayco 15550). Like others mention, there are no instructions but anyone with a mechanical background can figure it out. Or you can just look at the pictures. It's worth the price and functional. Do it.

BUY THIS ALTERNATOR BRACKET!
BUY THIS ALTERNATOR BRACKET!!! This is the Same, High Quality, Made to last bracket you will find from other sellers for twice the price! This system allows you to secure the adjustable linkage rod to either your intake manifold or to itself. We tried both, but ended up securing to itself so we could use the existing 55 inch fan belt from our original drivers side alternator set up on our 1955 Chevy 2 door Belair that had the Famous " Camel Hump Heads" that have no drill holes to mount accessories and we had to have a very custom "headerBracket" made. Now we have the later model Chevy "Light Weight" heads that allow us to use this AWESOME Alternator Bracket! ( system comes with lots of bolts to accommodate your particular installation. I screwed the extra bolts into my intake Manifold!. Lines up nice. We did cut a small 1/2"X1/2" sheetmetal piece to shim up and tighten the Main bracket where the "Fork "mounts where the alternator bottom slides through the bracket.

Looks and fits good
Worth the money all hardware is included. Fits with out modification. Alignment with short water pump is perfect also with the belt I choose I am able to remove the left valve cover without removing the belt to move the alternator. The picture I posted are of this installed in a 1957 Chevy, no clearance issues
