FlightAware's 1090 MHz and 978 MHz high-gain antennas come with an N female (threads on outside) coaxial connector built into the antenna. It's very difficult if not impossible to find an N male (threads on inside) bulkhead adapter suitable for creating a secure and/or weatherproof ingress point for an ADS-B receiver box. This lightning arrestor effectively serves that purpose. The N female side is connected to the box, and the N male side points out. I don't need the arresting functionality (entire assembly including antenna is mounted in an attic), but it also doesn't hinder performance at all. I have a top-100 global FlightAware receiver that's been running with this adapter for the last three months.

Picture makes you think you are getting 2 but narrative clearly states qty. of 1.You will never truly know if it works until your antenna is struck by lightning. And then it is time to purchase a new one.Till then I will assume I'm protected.
