I like 'em, I like 'em a lot!
I have a bay boat, not a kayak. These are an excellent upgrade for any boat. For $15'ish, its very affordable. These are easy to install. I drilled the holes for my wire, then removed the 3M tape backing, stuck it in place, then drilled the holes for the screws. So, they're very secure. Then I wired these to the switched wire that went to my navigation light connector/socket. Boom, working LED nav lights. The only thing about installing these that I would caution anyone about is making sure that the wire is completely in the wire hole, not mashed down outside the hole and make sure that you don't drill the screw hole too close to the wire hole. I did that on port light and shorted out the port (red) LED light. I had to order an extra set to finish the install. Still, it wasn't hard, I just didn't pay attention; its not Shoreline's fault, completely mine. These are very bright, should draw less juice than incandescent bulbs, and I can flip them on w/o having to dig out the front light post to plug in. As an added benefit, when I remove the front nav light connector, I can use that hole to run wiring for a front depth/fish finder and mount a RAM mount over the hole. When I do that, it will look like the boat originally came w/LED nav lights.Updated 27Feb20: These have held up well and are much much brighter than the original bow lights.

The flexible strips come inside an optional solid plastic c-channel mounting bracket like you see in the picture
To clear up the vague dimension description: These led light strips are only about 1/2" wide and each strip is about 6 inches long. There are 9 individual led's in each strip, but you can cut the flexible strip to shorten it to 6 led's or 3 led's based on your preference. Also, one reviewer noted that they are not sealed and he had to use silicone. This is inaccurate. The flexible strips come inside an optional solid plastic c-channel mounting bracket like you see in the picture. You can remove the black plastic end tabs and slide the strip out for flexible mounting. There is 3M tape on the flexible strip as well as the plastic c-channel housing so you have 2 mounting options. The flexible strip itself is waterproof, even if you cut it to a shorter length so placing silicone over the plastic housing (if you decide to use the plastic c-channel housing) is an unnecessary step. The only reason to use the plastic c-channel housing is if you have a flat mounting surface and don't need any flexibility. Even then, it's not necessary. The leds are nice and bright and the 3m tape stuck to my aluminum hull and held without issue. These lights are are great value.

Very Bright Lights Highly Recommend them for your Boat
The only reason that I am giving this item 4 stars is that the LED strip could have been better protected if the protective strip would have been turned around instead of having the open side facing outward toward the water. So before you want to blast me with why don't you just flip it or something along those lines, the protective strip comes with a double sided tape strip already placed on the closed side of the strip. I will be fixing this with clear silicon to weather proof it. All in all I think this is a great product and the 4 star review is just because I had to buy a tube of clear silicon to complete the weather proofing on the light bar. Still at a total of $22 it's a good deal and I will use the rest of the silicon to weather proof other parts that I am installing on my boat so not too bad if I spread the price of the silicon tube around it brings the actual price down to about $19 still a great price for these lights. Also this did not play a role on the star review but before you install them make sure you have the green light and red light in the correct side of your boat or kayak. I placed these on a 19 ft. Bayliner Capri and they look great.

Great for kayaks!
Used as permanently install navigation lights on an Old Town Sportsman Autopilot 120 kayak. These operate for weeks on a small 10AH lithium battery - with no problems. They're also waterproof.

Green is weak
Lights are easy enough to install. Red light is great. My green light sucks. It is extremely weak.

Works Great and very bright
These lights are the best. after using them for over three months there still as bright as I got them and on top of that they take little to no power on my little battery on my john boat would highly recommend.

Do not let the picture mislead you. It only comes with the two lights on the front.
Do not let the picture mislead you. It only comes with the two lights on the front. I was disappointed to see a small package with two lights in it.
