Awesome, easy entertainment
This would be a great gift for any boy or girl around 2.5 and older. We just purchased this for my 3 year old and it is one of his favorite toys. He attaches to helicopters, flies it off the couch, throws it around outside, takes it on rescue missions, etc....Lots of imagination, easy to use, tangle free and good quality. I would highly recommend this toy (my husband even enjoys playing with it). It's a great price too!

Hours of fun for our four year old daughter
Our four-year-old daughter got some dime-store parachute guys for her birthday, and while they were fun they were also frustrating due to the tangling aspects. I found these on Amazon and ordered them, and she has been happily playing with them for days now.She doesn't quite have the arm to throw them high enough when standing on flat ground, but we have a straight-shot stairway and if she stands at the top and throws towards the ceiling, it will begin 'floating' about halfway down. She loves it and happily runs downstairs to grab him, then back upstairs to throw him. It also makes nap time easier because she's so worn out. :)The no-tangle aspect of the toy works *perfectly*. I can recall when I was a kid I hated having to constantly de-tangle my paratroopers, and this toy solves that by using a single string to the jumping man, which then attaches to a reverse-cone of netting on the underside of the parachute.I think the netting has a slight effect of slowing the flow of air up under the parachute, but only slightly, and overall it's well worth it due to the lack of frustration. Highly recommended.

nice design but could have been more appealing
This toy has a unique design and with some father help kids may enjoy it a lot. It is not pricey and as stated tangle free (unless you use it at turbulent weather. However it requires quite a bit of strength for operation and a preschooler would find it difficult to operate. So it is something that a kid can not play independently. That is why my 3 years old son has passing interest on this toy whenever we offer it. He wants to be independent and achieve something himself while playing but all he can do is watch daddy...Another problem I have noticed is that it is dully designed. The colors could be more catching with may be some pictures on them and the parachute man is like a joke. It looks like the cheap figures that were offered free when I bought chewing gum in my childhood. No moving parts and painted in blue from top to toe, besides the parachute is connected to the head which is not realistic at all. With its low price tag, it is a good toy that offers occasional fun to children. But it could have been more appealing with some minor make up.

Probably the coolest toy you can get for $5
Definitely a must have for any boy, my 3 yr old can play with this for hours...however, he cannot throw it up high enough in the air to get the parachute to work so guess who gets to partake? Yep, mommy and daddy. Oh well, is fun for all (and a great workout for mom & dad!).Great outdoor activity for kids (and adults) of all ages. My 7 yr old niece liked it so much she wants one of her own.I would definitely recommend for all kids. And you can't beat the price! Seems like all toys are so expensive these days, so is nice to be able to spend $5 on a great quality toy and know you will definitely get good use out of it!

Just OK
I don't have any experience with parachute men as this is our first parachute toy but my boys haven't played with it like I had hoped. It definitely doesn't tangle which is a plus and seems to be made of quality materials, but my kids (ages 4 and 6) can't throw it high enough in the air to engage the para hit on the way down. So by the time the parachute opens the toy has already landed. We've thrown it down stairs and I've gone outside to throw it for them, but even though I can throw it far enough to let the parachute open the fun is short lived because it comes down so fast. So overall it wasn't as fun as I was expecting it to be.

The best money you'll spend
This is an absolutely fantastic product. Got three of them along w/many other very expensive presents of all sorts for my grandkids, 9 and 7. The only thing they played w/endlessly was the parachutes. They threw them off the upstairs, they threw them off of chairs, they threw them back and forth. An absolutely wonderful product. Eventually their parents had to restrict their using them as they were obsessed w/them, and it became a big bargaining chip, "behave or we'll take away the parachutes". The best money you'll spend on toys, So far indestructible.

SO DISAPPOINTED!
Both hands broke off the first day! My son was so disappointed and unfortunately I missed that there is no returns/replacements for this item. I am a frequent shopper on Amazon and this is the first time I came across an item that I had a problem with that I didn't receive help on either replacing or returning. What a complete waste of money!

Great update to an old standard
I got two of these for my 4.5 year old son and I. We have a lot of fun dropping them off the balcony or the deck. If I had a complaint it's that they are pretty tough to throw high up into the air from the ground. They tend to unravel and catch the air on the way up. There's no way my son can get any hang time from the ground. The tangle free netting is a great idea and the toy falls at a nice slow descent.
