I have read dozen of books around process engineering, process management and process architecture and have to say that ‘The Complete Business Process Handbook’ truly provides a comprehensive body of knowledge. I was positively surprised to explore that it is written as a practical guide, with hands on examples, guidelines, templates, models and tools. If you look through the author list you will see that it is by the authorities that have shaped the way we think and work today.What I really liked about it was that they clearly pointed out that unlike some analysts might claim, the size of the market and its adoption of process modeling and business process management is in no way an indicator of maturity. As a matter of fact, the maturity of many of the BPM concepts can have a low maturity, even though the adoption is wide spread. So while the high demand for BPM as a management method and a software solution, and the maturing BPM capabilities develop and unfold, the challenge quickly develops to provide concise and widely accepted BPM definitions, taxonomies, standardized and integrated process templates, as well as overall frameworks, methods, and approaches. That is exactly what they deliver in this book.My recommendation is without doubt, this handbook stands out as a masterpiece, representing the most comprehensive body of knowledge published on business process that I have even seen.
