Bad bearings right out of the box
I purchased 3 of these spindles to install in my John Deere 48C mower deck. Two of the spindles had bearings which seemed to bind by hand when rotated. When I assembled the spindles to the deck 2 of the 3 bound up and would barely turn. The spindles did fit just fine and, although I believe the bearings are sealed, I went ahead and greased them anyway. They still bound up.I have a good amount of mechanical experience and have a high degree of confidence that nothing I did had anything to do with the failure. I believe the bearing failure was caused by the manufacturer assembly, possibly while being pressed into the hub.Tearing a mower deck down to replace the spindles is fairly time consuming. Don’t waste your valuable time by trying to save a few bucks. Purchase original John Deere parts, which is what I am going to do.

It's a good product at a great value!
This was a great value replacement for the OEM John Deere spindle. I did have to use the supplied spacer ring to keep the pulley from bottoming out on the spindle sleeve, which makes it slightly different from my original spindle, but it was not a problem. For those that want (or need) to replace them,, the four small nuts that attach the spindle to the deck are M8 x 1.25. The center nut that holds the pulley is M14 (not sure what the thread pitch is at the moment, but I will double check my receipt and update this review.

As good as or better than the JD OEM
I bought three of these to replace some John Deere spindle assemblies that I installed in my Z425 last spring. One of the John Deers has failed already. Maybe I forgot to grease one of the spindles (but thought I did all three) but one failed after a year and I replaced with these. These look identical to the OEM. So far, the one that I installed is working GREAT!!

If you own a John Deere Z445 DO NOT BUY this spindle.
If you own a John Deere Z445 DO NOT BUY this spindle you will not be able to bolt on you blade to this spindle. The hole is not deep enough. When you have every put together the spindle will not spin. I had to go to John Deere and get the 77.59 and it worked just fine. This one is cheaper but you get what you pay for. I waited a week and a half just to find this out. In one day I went to my john Deere dealer got the right part the first time and was done,

Thank YOU!!
Fit perfectly in our John Deere 325 that had a pewter casing that was cracked. For safety's sake we wanted to replace when we replaced the blades. John Deere gets $75 for this part and here on Amazon I paid $40. It was very easy to install and it hasn't caused any problems so far. Also, the part was delivered in two days!

Poor workmanship
The bearings weren’t installed properly and when I tightened the pulley the bearings would lock up, with the seals already installed you can’t hit the outer race to drive them in properly, so I drove them in by the inner race might have damage them but I needed to get it back together and couldn’t wait

Spindle spec’s wrong
The manufacturer made the spindle shaft to long. When you assemble it and tighten the pulley nut the pulley bottoms out. If you install a flat washer under the pulley it’ll provide the necessary clearance.
