Suggested, have the kids and family practice removing them before a fire takes place.Nice double window frame locks. Not the best finishing touch but not so rough to cut skin. Would like to have seen white as opposed to untreated (shiny) aluminum.The tabs on the screws are fairly big/close making it somewhat awkward to use for my big hands.2 points of friction (2 screws) are far better then the standard 1 screw version.

Nice, easy to use and seems to hold my windows in place very well. will sleep better with the downstairs windows now better secured.

These are very sturdy! I am just not a fan of the little rubber piece inside being so tight I had to pry it open to shove over my window frame and they're not attached to the metal piece. Either way, they are very nice, and I feel much safer now.

I use these for metal frame windows that slide up to open and I use two per window. I drill one hole in the track that is slightly larger than the shaft of the threaded thumb screw. I turn the thumb screw so it goes all the way into the hole and prevents the window from being raised any further. I tighten the second thumb screw enough so it stays snug and doesn't move around. Works great for me.

These are very easy to use on my 1984 aluminum frame windows. The vinyl insert is a bonus. Double screws are recommended and one on each side of the window. My windows slide up and down, with bottom opening.

Not good for me. The clamps don't fit the window/door track well so have to be tightened very hard in order to work. I don't have enough grip strength to tighten them that hard by hand so would have to use a tool. If I have to use a tool, I feel like I'm trapped in my own house. If they work to keep someone out, they have trapped me in. I prefer a product that I can manipulate effectively, easily and quickly from inside the house but is not accessible to someone from the outside. I'll donate these to the Habitat store and keep looking.

This works great but the description says a 10 pack and I only received 1 lock. I will never buy from them again.

Good sliding glass door lock. Rubber insulated so not to damage aluminum door frame. I would recommend!
