We live in northern Idaho where we get some serious weather. Every fall, my boys spend the weekends splitting wood, and getting it stacked + ready for the winter. But, we never forget to stock up on these kindling sticks too.They are a life-saver.They save time, money and get our fireplace going quickly. If we ever run out, and it's cold, we don't tend to wait on matches + paper. So, we'll end up using a propane torch, which is a huge waste of money and resources. Torches are great for other more important uses so we'd rather not waste them on getting a fire lit.No, these Eco-Stix are the best option, and for a great price. easier than chopping your own, saves on the fingers. Only use one or 2 at most, very smoky, smells like petroleum/diesel/kerosene. But if we're still using wood fires we probably don't care.

These sticks bypasses the need to brush up on your outdoor survival skills in your living room, building a kindling bird nest to get a fire started, and are way cheaper and smaller than the Duraflame logs you buy at the grocery store. I use 2-3 sticks for every fire, and these sticks will easily ignite, medium small pieces of wood, even without kindling. The best fire starting experience definitely would benefit from the use of kindling mixed in with the fat wood though for sure. I just ordered by second box of these. A 10lb box has started about 30 fires it seems.
