Worth the money
Yes, it's "just" a hard piece of black carbon in the shape of a foot, but it works. It is hard enough that your foot will not bend when you walk. I had a 5th metatarsal fracture and was sick of the boot and the postop shoe.I bought these and used them in a large sneaker with an insole over them (for comfort). Take a look at my other review for that insole. It was a tiny bit less stiff for the overall foot than the boot or postop shoe, but it worked well for after the 6 week mark. My doctor was fine with it!I had to immobilize the foot for 12 weeks, and this insert did a way more comfortable job for the last six weeks of recovery. I highly recommend it for when you feel stable enough to try walking properly again, and want to break the bad walking habits from the boot or postop shoe.

Helped my stress fracture
I got the regular thickness but it was still very thin. Couldn’t bend this thin piece at all. The measurement matches the metal size, so it was smaller than the inside of my sneaker by at least a centimeter. However, it still worked and this has been helping me not bend my toes, one of which has got a stress fracture. My doctor wanted me to have this made at a prosthetics place for $70. But that place was too busy and told me to go to a cobbler. The cobbler couldn’t do it because they only work with leather. So I was stuck until I found I could just order them from Amazon!

Size selection box information inaccurate but good insole
For shoes with a removable insole, this is very rigid insole that can be inserted underneath it. For me, it's much more comfortable than wearing a post-op shoe. Even though it's super thin, it takes up a lot of space in your shoe. Your shoe has to be flat and really roomy (like a tennis shoe) to accommodate the insole. The information in the boxes where you select a size to order appears to be incorrect. I ordered a "9.45 Inch, SHOULD fit W's size 7.5-8 & M's 6.5-7" (which is equivalent to an EU38) but received an EU37. When ordering, it was confusing because with the "9.45 Inch, SHOULD fit W's size 7.5-8 & M's 6.5-7" (or EU38) box selected, one of the photos showed the dimensions for an EU37. I assumed the size selection boxes were correct and the picture was incorrect, but I think it's actually the other way around. Based on my experience, my best guess is that the sizing information in the picture represents the size that will be shipped. Fingers crossed for my reorder.

Miracle Insole
Ordered this after I broke my big toe. I’m an actor and had a show to perform just two weeks after I broke my toe… I put this insole in the shoe that was part of my costume, and then put a sneaker insole over it. It was SO COMFORTABLE and supportive that I totally forgot I had broken a toe while I performed. Amazing. Now I’m using it in all my day-to-day shoes until the bone knits. 10/10 would recommend!!!(One note: I wear a size 7 shoe and ordered a 7.5 insole - definitely refer to their own size chart and measure your foot before you buy. But if you do that, the insole should fit perfectly.)

Wrong Size and Dirty
I had to get these and was shocked how small they are. I came back to check my order and saw the wrong size was shipped. Be sure to check your order against what you have. Also, they looked dirty and had some wild imperfections in the materials. Have to order a bigger size so hoping those look better.

VERY Stiff and Light!
It's just what the doctor ordered...it's VERY stiff! I've been suffering with a 5th metatarsal fracture since 2018 and have had 3 surgeries. My orthopedic surgeon recommended I get one of these to keep my foot flex at a minimum. I'm glad I did. I can now wear my regular shoe and without the other pain that comes with an orthopedic shoe or boot(read: knee, back and hip pain). The seller did say that the shoe would be tighter(makes sense!) and to get a shoe that is a bit taller. The plate fit fine in my Vans but then my foot didn't, so I've switched to a pair of Merrell hiking shoes. If you need to wear this long-term, I'd go with a half-size larger shoe during the recovery.

sore foot
I have a bone spur and arthritis in my big toe. This product made my foot hurt worse. My shoes are 1/2 size bigger and it felt so tight when I put this insert in my shoe. It’s very hard.

Prescribed by My Foot & Ankle Surgeon
Having suffered a torn muscle and ligament in the ball of my foot, I consulted my foot and ankle surgeon, expecting a surgical remedy. I was pleasantly surprised when he prescribed this carbon fiber foot plate as the best recovery tool. I’ve been wearing it for 4 months and can honestly report that it has given me much more independence since the second day of wear. I travel a lot, and can say with confidence that it will not slow you down going through Security at airports.
