StormDrain 9" Outdoor Catch Basin Square Atrium Grate Cover - Superior Strength and Durability, Green

I was a little worried this wouldn't fit my 12" drain b/c the actually measurements of my cover were close to 11 3/4" but it fit perfectly. The cover is sturdy and well made. Even better is that it not only works but exceeds expectations! We had a good storm come through and pile leaves on the drain at the bottom of the driveway which would normally clog the flat drain and create a small pond... but not now, water continued to drain well even after leaves were piled so high you could barely see the top of the atrium. Highly recommend.

I've got a low spot in the front of my house on the edge of my driveway and I had a catch basin installed and line run out to my front culvert to divert all the water away. It was a simple 9x9" catch basin with a flat grate. The only issue I had was that the grate would get completely clogged in heavy rain with small bits of leaves and debris. Enter this replacement grate. Works much more consistently. I went and checked on it after the last big rain and the corners (that are flat) were clogged but the actual dome portion stayed clear. Definitely a win! I feel like it was a touch expensive, but short of replacing the entire catch basin (and even then, I still would've wanted to go with a dome grate) it was the best option.

I love this storm drain so much, I called the company's 800 number and left them a lengthy voice message of praise! It's thick, sturdy and yet, lightweight! This is just amazing.. replaced my flat grate with this. The flat grate used to allow pine needles and small maple leafs in and eventually used to get clogged.This never gets clogged and with time the leaves kind of forms a barrier on the edge which prevents gunk from going inside. And the water can always pass through from the dome part.

I'm using this for a summer drain cover because I live in a heavily wooded area and rain washes debris to the catch basin where a flat cover would be covered by said debris. In the winter, I use a flat metal grate to allow a snow shovel to pass over the drain. I need to clean out the catch basin anyway in the fall, so no more work just to switch covers and no worries of breaking this atrium cover in really cold temps with shovel.

Love the sturdiness but don’t like the loose fit. The original flat grate fits snugly inside the 12x 12 basin. However, this grate by the same manufacturer, leaves a sizable gap between the grate edge and edge of the basin. It still works but can slide around and will likely leave a space to collect debris.

I had a problem with mulch and leaves clogging my new drainage system. After some research, I bought this domed guard for my drainage basin. It is 100% more effective in keeping the system working properly and keeps the debris from stopping the water flow. Its easily cleared with a leaf blower. Its expensive, but worth the cost. If your system is constantly getting blocked, I would recommend getting this product.

I have a floor drain in my outside stairwell that gets plugged easily with detritus. I simply placed this over the drain, and it works perfectly to prevent flooding. Water will build up around the stormdrain, but not above the solid walls of the storm drain, and that's well below the level of my door. The water then enters thru the upper slats and down my floor drain.
