I got this to use in an interactive Easter project. Participants used red sharpies to write their name on it to signify Jesus taking their sin on himself on the cross. I almost didn't use it for that because it was so pretty on its own. It felt like a shame to use it for this purpose, but it was great. In my opinion, the cross was well made - in build and in aesthetics. The one I received was even nicer looking than the picture used for the listing here. I regret not taking a photo before we used it. It appeared that whomever built it put thought into selecting the wood that would look best in front, and whether or not by coincidence, there were a couple of nail holes actually in the places where you'd imagine Jesus' hands/feet would have been nailed. Every piece is different, no doubt, but I was surprised by the quality. Especially since I was just looking for a good-sized cross to "write on." As to writing on it, naturally the front is not smooth, so writing on it was a struggle and names weren't "pretty," but that wasn't exactly the point. I'm not big on cross decor, but I've been tempted to purchase another just to use in my home. It's simple, rustic, and beautiful.

Beautiful

Nice distressed wood, and well put together. However, the ends were fresh cut and did not match the rest of the patina. However, I'm sure over time it will change color, but the weathering will not improve. It is made of thick wood.

Exactly what I had hoped for. Rustic white cross. The wood is really beautiful, but the staples that hold it together will not last so I am planning on having to refasten the cross pieces with glue. One star off for cheap staple construction. Would buy again but plan on having to fix the staple issue.

I love this cross. There are a couple reviews not so happy, but they were exactly as I expected. I was looking for a cross to use for Lent decorating at my church. I added a small grapevine wreath over the cross to simulate a crown of thorns - it's beautiful. Sorry, but I don't have a picture. Now you have to remember they use weathered boards to make the cross. The outside is weathered, but, where they cut the board, it is whiter wood - but that is just how it is. Anyway, I love them
