Works great for nano tanks
People need to read. it's called the cascade 20 because it filters 20 gallons per hour, NOT because it's for a 20 gallon tank. it's for nano tanks up to 7 gallons and works great for that size.I added black sand to my tank and the water was very cloudy. I added this filter and the next day it was much clearer, the following day it was crystal clear. The cartridges are very small and probably would need replaced often but I plan on making makeshift replacement out of sponge filter media and maybe a little carbon. It looks nicer than some others and the water flow is gentle, which my betta appreciates. Sometimes the removable top rattles but if I move it a bit it stops and then it's super quiet.

Quieter than the Nicrew internal filter
Using for a 5G with an African dwarf frog. Filter flow is not too strong but just enough for a 5-10G without blowing my frog away. There is a slight gap between the filter media and the bottom of the filter so I added a sponge to catch all the debris. I also added a sponge to the intake just for precaution and catching extra debris. There is room to add more bio media behind the filter cartridge. The only thing I don’t like is that the low and high flow are identical. It was quiet for a day and then started to make a buzzing noise so I think the impeller shaft needs to be replaced. I added petroleum jelly to it and it completely silenced it which pretty much confirms the issue. Overall, good for the price it’s worth.

Cheap but works
This is a great filter for a low price, it only comes with one filter cartridge which kind of sucks. But it is pretty powerful, so powerful that I had to block some of the flow in my 5 gallon tank with some fake plants, my betta really didn't like too much water flow. Over all, it's a great cheap filter and lasts

As advertised
Quiet and easy to setup. Works perfectly for my daughters first fish tank. 5 gallon tank. Love how low profile it is. 👍👍

Gets the job done quietly and efficiently!
Using this as my cats water bowl filter. I bought a 5 gallon water dispenser for my hallway that came with a pet water bowl option, but no filter. Bowl is about 40 oz and this pump keeps it much much cleaner. Had to modify the input tube by heating it up midway and slightly bending it to match the curve of the bowl. Just fits like it was made for it. Its very quiet and I know my cat enjoys the way the fresh water flows into the bowl like from a natural spring. I also enjoy the slight trickling sound as I walk down the hallway, very relaxing and good knowing she'll have clean water. The filter is a good size and easy to clean and replace, unlike other cat fountains where you have to take it halfway apart to change the filter. Has a real nice flow rate and adjustment range. The wattage is so low, during a power outage it can be ran easily for 7 hours off an 80 watt AC portable power bank. Good for you and the fishy's. Me and my kitten highly recommend this filter and circulation pump. I hope this helps and that you enjoy your purchase.
