To make a long story short. I have been working very hard to lose weight and have done an amazing job over the last 6 months. Once I got below 220 I started running. I started running a 5k 2-3 times a week with the the occasional 5-8 mile in there. When I went to run over our local bridge I ran faster than normal on the downed part of the bridge, that's where I hurt my knee with what's called runners knee. Basically your knee cap gets slightly misaligned while running and gets inflamed. After doing that to myself I started doing more research. I took a 1 month break from running and took it easy on my knee. I just started running again last week. I now wear a compression sleeve on my once injured knee and I wear this small strap on my other knee as a precaution. They make the run feel so much more secure.This strap has double Velcro for the back latch. So you can basically slide it on, line it up and then strap down both ends of the Velcro at the same time. This makes it really easy to install and line up without having to spend time adjusting. There is no grippy tape or anything to keep it in place. It sits just below your knee cap in the small indented area. So far I have used it 4 times and it has stayed in place for all my runs.I highly recommend getting and using these if you are new to running. I probably would not have hurt my knee to start with if I had been using something like this from the start. I never had any issues with my knees, now that I am a little more educated about proper running and injuries, I will never run without these and or my other brace again.I heavily rely on amazon for reviews of nearly everything before I buy. I typically get knee pain after going for a few runs due to the muscles being weak (working on it!) and not holding everything where it needs to be. Due to this it can get really sore and even hurt to walk upstairs or just walk on a flat surface. I started using this while I’m running and I’ve noticed a decent reduction in my knee pain/weakness after going on a run.I’d like to disclose that I did receive this product at a discounted rate in order to provide an honest and unbiased review. I purchased this adjustable knee strap after I began running, and started noticing pain in both knees, especially before I found a pair of good gel insole shoes. The knee strap did help a lot with my knee pain! It has to be pretty tight to help support, which makes the strap almost too tight to be comfortable. I feel like this isn't the fault of the knee strap, which is pretty comfortable when not tightened so far. It's soft foam with no rough edges, and seems to be of high quality. I like that the velcro on both sides, so adjusts evenly on the knee and doesn't get off center. I also like that the straps are small, so while they're warm to wear it isn't too bad.
