OutstandingPet LR-800M | Dog Shock Collar & Electric Dog Training Collar - 875 Yards, Rechargeable, Waterproof, Assembled in The USA

Purchased this on July 1 and when I got it, the rubber collar was broken making the device useless. I e-mailed Outstanding Pets as to what I should do but my e-mail went unanswered. I decided to have a local shoe repair fella attempt a repair and although the repair was successful, the strap broke again in another place. Now it's two weeks later. Perhaps it's just my bad luck but I suspect that something has happened in the manufacturing process for these straps that hold the collar against the neck. I did have a day with the repaired strap and the unit meets my expectations but with a broken strap it's not possible to use. When I tried to call the company, there was a recorded message that they were all on vacation until almost September. Even Timex watch bands hold up better than this! Also, I believe the company says the device is Made in America but this kind of quality used to only be encountered in Asian countries 25 years ago. A fabric collar, in my opinion, would not only be more durable but also more comfortable on my dog. I am not sure yet what is outstanding about Outstanding Pets but maybe when return from their well deserved vacation I will find out. And yes, I did check my spam filter in hopes of finding their e-mail reply there.UPDATE SEPT 1: I spoke to customer service today and they are sending me a new collar. The seem to know that they got a bad batch of collars from their factory. I did not have to send the broken collar part back to them. This is all I could ask for. Mistakes happen and their willingness to make it right without making me suffer more is the essence of good customer service so I am changing my review to 4 stars as the unit is a good value for the money. I did have a chance to use it (after a shoe repair place mended the original collar) and my Doberman pays attention to the signal whenever I need to remind him that at our house we don't bark at the moon. If I needed to I would buy this unit again from this company.

The system it self is great, My Purebred Bloodhound responds well to it even set on number 3 out of 10 on the settings.I gave it a 4 because the device is attached to a rubber collar, that at any given time my dog trys to scratch off, and he has succeeded. We try to gorilla glue the rubber back together, he broke it apart at the seems where the device attached to the collar, so in moving forward, we bought a new cloth collar and screwed the device to the collar ourselves and since it has been wonderful!

This product works very well. The only thing that prevents me from giving a 5 star rating is that the screws that fasten the straps to the receiver have come loose twice and falls off. Check them periodically to make sure they are snug. The straps are also a little stiff but not a big problem.

Maybe it was a factory defect. Our dog had it on for 2 hours and I noticed that it had fallen off. I saw that the collar was broken. It looks like it is made of plastic.

Only with the remote had a light on it. Other than that, it has been really good so far.Thanks for the fast shipping

We purchased this due to the fact it was 100% waterproof. I was nervous because our old collar ended up shocking our pup when it got wet. But we gave this one a try and I couldn't be more happy with it! Our pup swims and submerges himself completely under water and the collar still operates perfectly in and out of the water. Great design, fits well under his neck. Very user friendly controls and easy on/off button on the collar itself! VERY HAPPY!
