4 out of five are working
None of the five units would work with the current ST Link programer for STM as they were all loaded with V2J17S4 firmware and the programmer said they needed upgrading. After a bit of messing around I did get them to update to latest firmware V2J37S7 however after update one unit decided to play up reporting its serial number as 1 and it will not connect nor will it take the upgrade . So 4 out of 5 working and all of them way out of date with supplied firmware. So one star off for needing to upgrade and one star off for the faulty one, you can find a manual (ST-Link V2 USB Dongle Programmer_EN.pdf, 18 pages) on their main site if you search for the product. That gives some good information on using the dongle with the Arduino IDE, I was using the offical STM32 Cube Programmer which requires the upgrade to work.Sliding the cover off allows you to check the chip ID mine are using the STM32GC102CB chip, these are pretty old chips as the older Nucleo boards use the STM32F103 and the V3 boards use the STM32F723.That said it is still a good price for a programmer even with only four out of five working..
