Groz01550 6" Wing Compass, powder coated finish

Good size and solid construction. Won't get banged up in your tool bag. Perfect size for a carpenter in my opinion. My 2nd purchase of this tool (after 15years the previous tool grew legs). Was very happy to find it here.

A great compass not just for circles! I use this for scribing of all kinds! I'm a finish carpenter for a large company in Seattle and this is my goto when I need a tight fit for numerous applications like panels & fillers in my case! Works like a charm!

I do a lot of Woodworking and metal projects and have fought with cheap flimsy compasses. This product is durable, well-built and a reasonable price.

This tool was required for a class that I traveled to take & by the time I got back home the return window had closed, so now I’m stuck with this piece of garbage!I wasn’t familiar with this tool so I didn’t realize that it arrived broken & unusable. Several others in the class had purchased the same tool from Groz & Amazon & also received it broken in the same spot. We all had to share the instructor’s compass instead. The Groz/Amazon compass all had a bad/weak weld where the pencil holder attaches to the compass itself so that’s where it broke off, making this compass useless. That’s a manufacturing defect which shouldn’t happen at this price!Those classmates who purchased their tool from Lee Valley had quality working tools.Don’t waste your $$$ here.

Proper size for most woodworking projects and of high quality. Black powder coat finish is a nice extra.

I bought this because I kept breaking my scribe devices. Upon initial inspection, this is a durable compass, it will last a long time with my other tools in my tool bags.With a standard #2 Dixon Ticonderoga fastened down, it won't scribe anything less than 1/4"
