Wasn’t that Great of a Product
This thing is kind of chunky and it was very difficult to stuff into my door frame.The strike plate cannot be used with any other electric door strike.I have had more of these fail than any of my other electric door strikes like the Hess 5000 series. The Hess I purchased recently is much slimmer and easy to install and is extremely quiet - you just hear the click. (I just mention Hess because I have purchased only RCI and Hess strikes. This is not an advertisement for them - I am just providing my anecdotal experience).I think I might also feel unloved because RCI sales was totally worthless in recommending the correct product to me when I called them. I don’t know.These things are not inexpensive. It just seems like every RCI strike has failed but the other manufacturer’s product just keeps clicking along without complaining.
