Not perfect and split at joint when cutting out sink hole. Glued and battoned underside for support. Best price I could find for 1 metre width required. Happy with end result.

Had to send back a 2mtr x 720mm x 40mm worktop by another firm, mentioning no names but name has something to do with trains? That one was damaged and badly packaged and the service was awful trying to get issue resolved. House of Worktops is a fairly new company which did cause me some concern but no need to worry. Top quality worktop which after putting a slight radius on the leading edges and several coats of Danish oil on the edges and ends plus 2 on the bottom and three on the top looks absolutely brilliant. If you do your prep properly you will be chuffed. Highly recommend.

I bought the 28mm 150x72 size, non oiled an then rounded the edges myself and spray painted it clear.On the underside I added inserts for M6 screws then fixed it to a motorized variable height office desk frame. It looks very good. Just be sure to check which side looks better and has less blemishes before starting to drill. Before painting it also check if there are holes or knots that need filling. After the first coat, the wood will raise even if sanded smooth before. Just sand it again. It should do that only for the first coat Satisfied, although it took quite some time to paint it properly.

I'm using this as a desk, unlike a lot of review mine came in excellent condition, I didn't see any issues with the tabletop. The customer service of House of worktops were really excellent had a couple of question and they came through and helped me out. so overall a pleasant experience.

Hi,I'm going to try and explain the problems in hopes for people to understand and hopefully the seller as well. I have also attached pictures of the worktop oiled and lightly sanded by my father and I and the finished completed desk that I was going for (ignore the awful carpet and paint its being worked on).So.. why 3 stars?1: The delivery came in a thin plastic wrap that was ripped when it got to my house which was disappointing as I was under the assumption especially from other comments that the worktops came very secure with protections on each worktop corner and protection around it - however thin plastic that was half ripped i personally felt that was unacceptable. Compared to other competitors that provide it as standard i couldn't understand why such minimum was used. Maybe it was a mix up.. i don't know either way that caused 1 star to be lost.2: The second star to be lost. There is minor defects on the worktop top and bottom, joining isn't always staggered, a few small areas had clearly been damaged and what looks like attempts at hiding? with what looks to be wood glue i'm also attaching a picture to show what i'm on about (this was in several spots on the worktop). The worktop is also slightly warped and the pre-oiling it comes with was okay i guess? I didn't find the sanding they did that great as such i wish i had personally brought the standard worktop that wasn't pre-oiled.I personally feel taking 2 stars off is fair. Somebody would wonder "Why didn't they send it back if it had those problems?" The answer is because of what it is being used for. If it was for a kitchen worktop I would of sent it straight back however for a desk i wasn't as worried.I used Cosmo Top Oil and a light sanding (done by hand) with 150 grit. The top of the worktop we oiled it 4 times, the edges 4 times and the bottom of the worktop 1 time. I'm satisfied with the finish but i believe it would of looked magical if i had brought the standard worktop with no pre-oil.So what about the good parts?1: Delivery was very fast, kudos to the company for getting it out so quickly i was very impressed.2: Solid oak, felt very sturdy and aside from the defects mentioned above the quality was nice - would of been impressive without the defects.3: I felt the money value was about right4: They rang me to answer some questions I had which i appreciated them doing.I'm unsure if I would buy again, i'd be more inclined to try somebody else to compare which is what i will most likely do in the future. When that happens I can make an update of my thoughts months later including a final "would i definitely buy this again?".Thanks for reading if you have questions feel free to ask.Update 31/08/20: At around 9:30am house of worktops gave me a phonecall to discuss my review and to see how they could best help me and explain things. It was a positive chat that I found to be very helpful and appreciated them taking the time to explain things. I made some suggestions which they've taken on board and they explained to me if I have any worries or concerns to reach out to them and they will try to help and remedy the situation.The seller made clear they WASN'T ringing to have me change my review. I think if people have worries or concerns or there are problems to give them a chance at remedying the situation. My overall opinion is people should try them.Overall we talked about the following : how deliveries can be better looked at and improved even slightly, the defects of the worktop and what's normal and not normal and the seller will (hopefully) add some more information to the product description explaining what can happen with the worktop naturally.I'll update in a month or two on how the desk is going so far.

Hiccup with delivery originally,but company sorted it with great customer service. Great value,I looked around and this was the best and free delivery.
