Jack And The Beanstalk & Other Stories

Both my children are under three but enjoy listening to audiobooks when we're in the car. This CD contains four stories; Jack and the Beanstalk (read by Lenny Henry) Goldilocks and the Three Bears (read by Sheridan Smith) Puss in Boots (Henry) and Snow White (Smith.)Apart from the small interlude of music there are no sound effects during the stories, which as well as making them different from some of the other CDs we own, means that the words can be heard clearly. This is certainly a bonus for my son who spends a great deal of his time trying to repeat the words!As an adult this wasn't too awful either, I particularly enjoyed Lenny Henry's Puss in Boots who sounded like a cross between Elvis and Theopolis T Wildebeast. Great fun!

I would thoroughly recommend this CD for children to listen to - Lenny Henry reads these familiar stories in a very entertaining and captivating way. I was delighted with the copy I received - in excellent condition and delivered very speedily which is the service I am accustomed to from Amazon. Excellent value for money

Bought this for my 5 year old granddaughter and it's absolutely perfect for that age, although my 7½ year old grandson also listens even though he pretends he's not. My husband and I particularly love Lenny Henry reading the story of Puss in Boots with his various voices for the different characters. The "deep south" drawl for Puss is hilarious.

Bought it for my 3 year old who loves the story of Jack & the Beanstalk, but was a bit disappointed as the title story seemed very long and a bit boring. My son lost interest. A much better audio cd of fairy tales is Yummy by Lucy Cousins - 2 1/2 - 4yr olds would love it.

Great Cd for small children to listen too.
