I'm not exactly sure what you are asking but let me try to give you information you can use for your answer. These hinges come as 2 pieces. The primary part of the hinge is made up of a formed piece of strap iron that forms a loop into which the hinge "pin" is inserted. The hinge pin is a lag screw with the pin formed on the end at 90 degrees from the center line of the screw. The outside diameter of the "pin" is 7/16 inch. Although one might be able to insert a slightly larger pin into the loop of the hinge I would not recommend it. If you are asking if you can slip the formed loop of the hinge strap over a 5/8" pin the answer is no.

Q: What kind of load would these support? I'm looking for a hinge that would support a gate that weighs approximately 40-50lbs. Would these suffice?

These should handle 40-50 pounds with no issues , I have used several sets of these hinges on large wooden gates with no issues

the shank is 10.5 mm Dia. the threads are 12.5 mm Dia.
