The double adapter serves you several things: – Use more efficiently the wall socket. – Charge two devices at the same time – Load the battery of the reading lamp RAPIDLY. – Keep the battery healthier, extending its life time. For charging the book light battery we recommend the use of the 1.0A port as it is optimal for a 1.0mAh battery, the charging time will be 1 to 1 1/2 hours. The 2.1A port can be used by charging the battery even faster but generating some heat that implies an additional energy consumption and slightly affecting the useful life. Other adapters, commonly 250 or 350mA, can be used to charge the battery, in this case it will take almost 5 hours.

Super long and well built
Works just as you'd expect. I bought it as a replacement for the DC adapter that goes with my Logitech Harmony remote. Now I can power it from my A/V receiver and save a wall outlet! Super long and well built. I'll probably pick up another one for my wireless mouse dock later.

Careful
Some how destroyed the logic board on my Mac. Thank god it was still under warranty. Got a refund though and free return.

Thought I would try the charger. Had it for about one year now. Charges my iphone5 without any problems. Beats paying more at other places
