A dark twisted atmospheric page-turner
Addison Cain's so talented at creating dystopian worlds. The sort of worlds that make you shudder but that fascinate. This world's grimy and foul and reminded me strongly of the new Blade Runner film. In it we find a new Cain heroine - Wren. Mute, Wren's a fighter but in a desperate situation, more so when her path crosses with the Alpha male of her underworld Caspian. Like Cain's anti-hero Shepherd, Caspian appears beyond redemption and little he does in the novel redeems him! He's joined by two other Alpha males...It will be interesting to see what sort of narrative arc Cain gives Wren in the next books she has planned. Having read Cain's Born to be Bound series I anticipate Wren beginning to truly test Caspian's control in the next novel.

Brutal
This book is set in the alpha and omega from that Cain has created it is short compared to those books. This one seemed take compared to those which are not for the faint hearted it wasn't difficult to follow as it had no affiliation with other books in that realm of hooks. But now the question is when isnthe next book available? For me it was just to short...

Woah 😮
This book is so raw, so disturbingly dark its awesome. The second book also brings in more context to the characters. So in this book you find it cold dark and harsh. In a world that is brutal. 3 Alphas up against a small omega mute. If you like dark, coercion/dubcon themes then you won’t be disappointed. What I will say is there is no release date showing for book 3 ☹️. It’s a very unique storyline in an omegaverse setting. Another great series from Ms Cain. 😃

Raw and wicked
Addison has done it again, my whole world stops while I read her books! I am loving omegaverse books and this does not disappoint.Alphas dominate and take what they want. Wren is a mute Omega who has been cast out by her father, branded and broken. She is surviving in The Warrens when she crosses paths with Alpha Caspian. He wants Wren and he will have her.Don't read this book unless you can handle a bit of dark, dubious content.I can't wait to read the next instalment.

Just lost my Omegaverse virginity!!
OMFG!! I can't believe what I've just read. This is my first time reading an Omegaverse book and I'm so happy I let Addison Cain claim my virginity. I really wasn't sure if I would like this genre but I'm so glad I stepped out of my comfort zone to give it a shot.Addison's writing is so good, you feel like you're in on the action with them. Now to make a start on Silent Captive.

Great Read!
This one is certainly dark, dirty and delightfully sinful to read and I enjoyed every minute of it! Not my usual type of book, I will admit but I am finding the more I find authors who push into realms other than what I usual read, tend to drag me with them and boy am I glad Addison Cain did just that with Branded Captive. I can't wait for book 2!I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book

Confused :{
I just didn't get it! You can usually tell within the first few chapters, if not before, if a book is any good or not. I'm not a quiter when it comes to books, so despite my lack of enjoyment, I plowed on hoping to get to the end to find out what life held in store the heroine, Wren. I was hugly disappointed that the story is to be continued. Arrh! I say heroine in a fairly loose term because I have yet to see much from this character except to protect two boys who we know nothing about. There is too much missing from this book to really understand what is going on. Unless this world in which it is set is linked to other books, it is all far too confusing. Sorry, it was just not enjoyable. I haven't read anyother books by this author, yet. Don't know if I will?

Wow totally dark and emotionally twisted
Wow totally dark and emotionally twisted, what women will subject themselves too for their children, adopted or birthed. This story is the stuff of nightmares, and I can so relate to Wrens anger and her pure unadulterated happiness when it comes to the treatment of her boys. I’ve read this one multiple times and I still get drawn into Wren’s emotions. I look forward to rereading the rest of the series.

Wow
A futuristic story that is really dark. Women treated as objects and degraded by alien alpha males. Really hot. Couldn’t put it down.

This is addictive, should be issued with a warning!
This is another compelling read by Addison Cain; I love her raw and gritty style of writing, it's not pretty but boy does it pack a punch! It's a fast read that will have you cursing that you have to wait for the next book. But you will grab the next one as soon as it's released.

Very dark omega taking
The story had good structure as to how the omega ended up in the bowels of that world and how she strived to save children out of the slavery that waited for them. The mating of the alpha and the omega is one that is usually very dark, but for whatever reason this omega creates different feelings.

Raw. Brutal. Seductive.
Raw. Brutal. Seductive.Addison Cain’s Branded Captive can best be summed up in those three words. The language is brutal. It’s raw. And while the story itself is equally as brutal and raw, at the same time it’s seductive in a way that creeps up on you. Takes hold of you and pulls you into Wren’s world by the throat. You become an omega surrounded by the merciless Alphas she must deal with, and yet her pure force of will and strength captures you, and you let it happen. You want to be drawn into her story, her world. Because for as raw and brutal as it is, there are moments of passion and seduction that simply cannot be denied. And it is those moments that temper the ferocious and savage parts of this novel, and make it so much more than the sum of its parts. The language of this story is so tight, and so sparse, that at first it was a bit off-putting. But the further you go into the story, the more that terse, almost Hemingway-esque writing style really begins to fit the tone of the novel. It fits perfectly into the harsh, grim, severe world that the protagonist Wren lives in. At its essence, this is Wren’s story of how she determines to take as much control of her life as she realizes she can in a dystopian world where little seems to be within her control. However, some of the most compelling and achingly beautiful parts of this novel are when Wren shows that she does exercise some control over her world, even if how she does it is so difficult to read as it happens. That she makes certain choices to achieve her end-goals, even when it requires sacrifices that many would consider too high a price, she never does so without accepting the risk, nor crying about the cost involved. This is driven home quite persuasively when the reader understands the physical disabilities that Wren must deal with, coupled with the severe and callous nature of her anti-hero love interest (if one could call him that). The essence of Wren is best summed up by this line from the novel, spoken by Caspian:“You’re not defective…. You’re flawless.”And in many respects that is the best summation one can give about Wren. Though she has her faults, she is a strong, powerful in her own way, flawless person. There are those who can argue that she gives too much of herself, allows the Alphas to take too much without a sufficient fight. However, to me that ignores the notion that she understands the brutal nature of the world she lives in all too well, and she accepts far more realistically the concept of “Tis better to yield and live to fight another day, than to resist and end it now.” She knows the limitations of how far and how hard she can press, and she takes the advantages when they are presented to her, and accepts those times when she must acquiesce and comply with the Alphas demands for her body. In doing so, she actually gains far more control over the lead Alpha (Caspian) than even he recognizes at first, and she does it in such a subtle way that it is incredibly sensuous and entertaining to read as it unfolds. This is a fantastic novel for those who love the entire Alpha / omega conceit. This was actually my very first foray into this genre, and while at first I was a bit disconcerted by the aggressive tone of the novel (esp. where it concerned Wren), I actually came to enjoy how she dealt with all of the Alphas in her own way, and I really loved how she manipulated Caspian. To me that was probably the most delightful part of the story, especially when he comes to begrudgingly realize that she’s done it. It was, in a novel that is sparse with these moments, almost touching. If there was a flaw to this novel, it was one that is more a personal dislike than an actual thematic or narrative criticism; I am NOT a fan of the final lines of a book being something along the lines of “The story doesn’t end here! Wren’s story will continue in the book #2, coming soon!” That is not the exact line from Branded captive, but a similar line like it does exist. It just sticks out obtrusively from the otherwise wonderful flow of the narrative. When I am caught up in the world of a novel, I know - as a reader - that it is going to end (sadly, as all novels do), and when suddenly I’ve got a salesman blaring in my metaphorical ear to “Be sure to buy the next book!”, it breaks me out of that world in a disconcerting way. I tend to end up thinking: "Well, don’t worry, champ! If you’ve done your job well (which in the case of Branded Captive is a definite yes!), then you have nothing to worry about. I’ll be buying the next novel for sure! And if you haven’t, then no amount of pleading with me is going to entice me to do so." Again, this is totally, 100% a personal bias, but it was so jarring in this novel for the very reason that the writing was so good that it struck me more so than it has in other novels that I have read. I’m confident that this will has little to no impact on other readers, and it certainly should NOT be a point to deter anyone from the novel, but it was the ONLY issue I had throughout the book.Alphas. Omegas. Raw, brutal, sensual. If these are triggers that get you excited, then get Branded Captive (and the second novel just recently released – Silent Captive). You will definitely NOT be disappointed.

Dominating
I’m not much into dark erotica but was recommended to read this series by Addison Cane and I must say it definitely grew on me. So Branded Captive is a Dark RH romance whereby the MFC, Wren, who is a Omega, is mute and trying to survive in the Warrens (barren land) with two teenage kids. Trouble is abound and to pay back Caspian, first-alpha, she must obey and give her body. However Caspian wasn’t expecting to care so much about her as he has nor his 2nd or 3rd Alphas. Be aware this is a novella so it is fast paced, it’s also a dark romance so there is a bit of consensual BDSM, expect MF and MMF.
