Love this stuff. I've been using it to clear up White Lines Disease in my horse's front feet. I've so far been applying it just as I did with White Lightning but that stuff is expensive! This is a far more cost-effective option; especially since WLD doesn't clear up over night.Just through internet research and my farrier's recommendation, I've been activating the solution 50/50 with white vinegar (about 1/4 cup or less each) and soak a hand full of cotton balls in it inside a ziplock bag. Once the solution has been squeezed around in the bag and the cotton balls have saturated, I pack them inside my horse's hoof (frog & around the walls) and use masking tape to hold them in place. I kind of make a make-shift hoof boot with the tape. Lastly, I put on my horse's Cavallo Trek trail boots which luckily I have and double great as medicine boots. I let her feet soak overnight and wow her hooves are clean as a whistle in the morning. The gas really has a long chance to rise into the hoof and clear up the fungus. It's been working great for me so far! I'm hoping this will be my first and last ever bout with WLD.Also, I've been spraying the solution (unactivated) directly onto the surface of her stall once or twice a week when her bedding gets low enough that the floor is exposed. Not 100% sure if that does anything but it has prevented the fungus from spreading to her back hooves or who knows where else. In general, be very careful handling the solution especially while activated. It's very potent!

This product is excellent for cleaning and disinfecting the hen house, waterers and feeders. I make spray bottles to spray my shoes between pens when I have new hens. Great for shoe baths andbio-security. It doesn't have any strong odors and it is safe to handle if not mixing with citric acid.I have used other products but I need to use gloves and masks. Also other products need to dry and air before animals can come into contact with cleaned surfaces but not Oxine. In fact I mix it intheir drinking water and it keeps the water clear. When the hens are molting and a little under theweather Oxine is put into cool mist humidifier for a hour. Great product and many uses!

Members of Backyard Chickens (backyardchickens.com) swear by Oxine. From cleaning coops to keeping drinking water clear to curing sick birds everyone sings it's praises.Because of the shipping cost I didn't order this until I had sick chickens. Yes, It would have been better to have it on hand before the chickens became sick. No, they did not have chicken pox.Four days of misting the coop with a very dilute solution in a cool mist vaporizer cleared all symptoms from the birds. I now keep a spray bottle near the coop and spritz the ramps, roosts, waterer and such, weather permitting.I also use it to clean the coop instead of bleach. There is no odor and I don't have to worry if it drips or splashes on the very curious chickens. (Some BYCers spray it directly on their birds.)A gallon will last a backyard livestock owner a long time. Keep it stored somewhere that minimizes temperature swings and exposure to light.PLEASE NOTE: I am using Oxine in it's unactivated form as it comes out of the container, diluted with water. If you add the activating chemical (not included with your Oxine purchase) you must follow a long list of safety precautions. Since it does everything one needs for regular use in its less toxic form save your self the cost of a biohazard suit and respirator.I am extremely pleased with this product.

I would put this in a fogger and spray everything in my barn including the wood walls. It was very good safe disinfectant. i would highly recommend. I hope my review helps you.

Expensive but its the only place I could find this and needed it for cleaning our chicken coop/waterers/etc.I’m suprised by the reviews that say it should last forever...I’ve already used at least half the container just doing weekly watering container cleanings and monthly coop cleaning.It hasn’t kept the green alge from forming in our black watering trough/bucket outside despite the fact it has a solar fountain spray to circulate water and doesn’t sit in full sun.Not sure I’ll purchase it again for awhile with the high cost, but it seems to work great for disinfectant and hasn’t made any of the girls sick.
