Best belly bands out there!...and some sizing help!
Quick update: 06/26/14 - the velcro after daily use has become quite worn (loop side is all knobby pills and hook side has few actual hooks!) and I've actually replaced ALL the velcro on my original order of Smalls just in the last few weeks. Hopefully this gives you an idea of how long they last since I purchased them July 2013! Some of our mediums are also looking quite worn but they're still sticking so I won't replace them quite yet. I ordered the heavy duty 2" velcro from Amazon and sewed it on after using a seam ripper to easily remove the old stuff. These belly bands take a lickin' and keep on tickin'!~~~~~~~Update: 12/6/13 - we got the Mediums and while they are great, there are two issues you may want to be aware of that we ran in to for our barrel chested min pin! 1 - the band is wider and for our pup we've found that means more fabric on his back which he has discovered he can rub the edge along the bottom of furniture and his burrow bed and actually force it off of him. It ends up just being pushed over his butt and down like a skirt coming off! 2-to get it pretty tight so he can't pee out of the band it will mean a "tag" of leftover velcro sticking out (the portion that doesn't have the other velcro side to stick to) and this leads to again, rubbing against things to come off - blankets, burrow bed, furniture. Ultimately, while the smaller ones when worn snug only latch for about an inch of velcro, this velcro is strong and doesn't unlatch; with the smaller size on him there isnt extra/bulkiness that he can use to wiggle out of it, even if he rubs the top of his back along say the top of his burrow bed at night. The sucker stays on no matter what, and isn't that what we are looking for here?! Hope this helps! :)~~~~~~~We have tried several kinds of belly bands for our marking miniature pinscher and these are by far the best! At one point I had given up hope and even made some myself but my smarty pants dog figured out he could rub the top against furniture and get out of them, completely defeating the purpose! These have wide and long velcro strips and there's no wiggling out of these!I thought these might be a good deal for the price and even though I was bummed they only came in white we LOVE them and solved that problem by dying them black with fabric dye! After dying we have not noticed any change in absorbency of the fabric. He can still have a little accident and you wouldn't know it from the outside of it. I WILL say that if your dog is just plain ol' incontinent these may not provide you with enough absorbency - I noticed once my pup actually just wet himself with a full amount of pee and the poor pad was just maxed out! That being said, the pee still stayed in the pad and not on my rug...the pad was just wet and I could feel it when I took it off of him.Now for some sizing help...my min pin is 14" at that "hip" point where his penis is and I was unsure what size to get. I had read a couple reviews that said theirs stretched so I got the small thinking this way I could keep them tight and have some room to tighten them when they stretch. Well, I have not found them to stretch, but just the opposite. We wash ours in the machine and then hang dry and they have definitely shrunk just a tad. Not a big difference, especially if we had a medium, we may not even notice. But because we have the smalls they're a little snug on him in order to get the velcro to meet and latch. We are now back to purchase mediums for two reasons: the little bit of shrinkage after washing has left us with very little room to close them but also because we have dyed them it's actually really tough to see visually if the band is wet inside! If you keep them white the brown interior makes it easy enough to see the wet areas, but because our little guy is black and we didn't want him running around in a fashion faux pas :) , we are gonna start putting mediums on him with a little panty liner inside so we can watch for wetness (he's on new meds to possibly help with marking so we do actually want to see if he's wetting the band!)FYI the actual size of the SMALL is 4" wide and 16.25" long. I thought I saw a question and answer on here that said it was 5" wide and perhaps that is true of a different size.Hope this helps! All in all a GREAT band and we are very happy with them! It's great that you get enough in one package that you can really just wash several of them every few days instead of daily washing! We also love that out of the washing machine they dry very quickly when hung up, perhaps because of the wicking fabric?

Great quality and value
Unfortunately one of my 3 rescued greyhounds has a marking problem. I've heard that males that are neutered later in life are likely to have marking issues that cannot be "trained away". Our boy was neutered at 4 yo, and he was 5 when we adopted him. He had already been returned by 3 different owners after he was rescued from a dog track because of his marking, so we were asked to foster him until a forever home could be found for him. Naturally-- as has happened with other greys that we have owned over the years-- once entered into our homes also entered into our hearts and so we decided to keep him, along with our other 2 greys, although we have to keep him "in diapers". Male dog wraps are expensive, and we've tried several brands and types. Most of them also irritated his "private parts" since he needed to wear them 24/7. I happened upon these, and when worn with a sanitary pad attached, have worked out the best, and irritated him the least. My kids also decorated them with cute things using fabric paints and we wash them regularly with no problem. If you need to use wraps for your male "marker", then these are the best value, and best quality as far as I'm concerned. And they keep me from having to clean up pee from anything Petey finds interesting and markable...

Best out there
After trying what seems like a million wraps I think I found the perfect one. It's sturdy, doesn't slide around, absorbent, and reasonably priced. They do run a bit small and if you need to put an additional liner or something you need to account for that. I ordered Large for our dalmatian but with an additional liner, they don't fit. I contacted the company directly and they are more than happy to exchange the unused ones for the next larger size. For some reason, Amazon doesn't list the XL or XXL sizes. Will definitely be sticking to these!

I USE THESE BROWN SIDE UP!
This product is well made and the price is great. However, I have to caution people regarding the size and the fact that the Velcro is on the inside (the brown side) according to the information provided. What this means is if you can not totally cover the VERY long strip of Velcro it will absolutely irritate your dog's belly in my opinion. (try rubbing scratchy velcro on your face). Since my poodle is 10" around over 2 inches of velcro was not covered. I contacted the seller who responded promptly to my concerns and I was told I could send the product back but she did not believe a dog's skin would be irritated. My dog's belly has very little hair so perhaps that could be true. Anyhow what I did instead was put the white side against the belly thus the Velcro strip is on the outside and that has to be more comfortable! I use a simple cheap panty liner on the inside if my dog decides to mark but the material should be sufficient for light marking regardless. Absolutely great customer service.

Disappointed
Order a size up.... I ordered the proper size and they are too small, they just barely fit... the good thing is that there are so many that I can take four and alter them to make them fit. And still have four of them. They are well made and soft. And you get 8 of them, which is fantastic. Just order up... the Velcro on it is large so you can make it smaller easier than you can trying to make it fit when it's too small.

Perfect for my 2 yr old lab mix with a weak bladder. Measured as directed, XXL is a great fit, 85 pounds. Use with a diaper insert or other soft absorbent material for added protection. Rinse well and soak like baby diapers until there is enough to do a small load in the washer. No more dribbles & puddles or stinky dog bed. Very pleased.
