Glimpses of my Master: Insights into the life and work of the enlightened mystic, Osho

Good read but not up to the book's title
The book focuses much more on the author's own activities around Osho than glimpses of Osho himself, so I am quite disappointed and sometimes got bored of those myriad of details on the making of robes and hats for Osho.

Glimpses of my Master
Written by a close disciple of the controversial and flamboyant Indian mystic Osho Rajneesh, this is a fascinating account of a life devoted to the pursuit of higher consciousness under the intense tutelage of an extraordinary spiritual teacher. Filled with interesting and intimate details of day to day ashram life, Veena Schlegel's story makes particularly compelling reading; devoid of the sensationalism and media-hype frequently associated with Osho and the thousands of seekers he attracted from all over the world during the 70'3 and 80's, this book will appeal to anyone with an interest in spiritual search and higher consciousness with its detailed description of the alchemical and transformative process which occurred living in close proximity to this 20th century enlightened master and guru.

Osho’s taylor tells her story!
A must read for everyone who would like a glimpse of how it was to live around the spiritual master Osho. I recommend this book highly, because of it’s refreshing authenticity. The author has a knack for leaving her ego out of the pages and describes her experience around Osho in a playful, humorous and loving way! Do not miss this book! It is priceless!

A life of devotion around a Master.
This is a must read book for seekers. Most people will never know the beauty and challenges of living intensely with an enlightened Master. This book is an insight into the life of a disciple who walked the path of self discovery with one of the greatest mystic and Master of our time.

The ways of the Master..
This book is an excellent read for any one who loves the Mystic Osho. Goes into details on incidents that shows how a Mystic and Master works. The book has information like the work on "Kailash" in central India which is not covered in other literature that I have read by Osho and about Osho. Thank you Veena. Love

Great read!
A talent for writing that sweeps you into the story. A totally enjoyable read. I have read 2 of Schlegel's other books and I highly recommend all three. Get a wonderful personal insight into Osho in this book.

Beautiful intimate narrative of Bhagwan's life
Reading this book was like listening to a dear friend telling me her beautiful life story with her master...Veena's very sweet account of her time in India is worth reading.

Nice but sometimes boring
Good account of days spent with Osho, but gets boring sometimes. There is page where she says that she paid attention to detail in printing but that same page has uneven font in this book. LOL

Pure beauty
Not that many books are written about the controversial mystic Osho (aka Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh) and not surprisingly the most popular are the ones filled with slanderous rumours, misunderstandings and downright lies. Here we get something completely different, a moving, personal story by an intimate discipel who both worked as an editor of Osho's book and later as chief designer of his often outrageously beautiful robes (and hats). Throwing light on the mysterious ways of an enlightened Master and his endless compassion for who ever comes close to him. Filled with funny episodes, profound transformations and glimpses of the beyond, although Veena mostly stays away from the esoteric. The book is extremely well-written and entertaining and definitely one of the best ever portraits of Osho. Parts of it has previously been published in her long out-of-print books like "A Seam For The Master". Unfortunately without the beautiful pictures which she claims she can't reproduce due to copyright issues. That she has a critical outlook on the way Osho's legacy has been handled is no secret, but she is the first to admit that it's just her personal view. And some of her points are definitely highly relevant.A must for anyone interested in the complex play between Master and disciple, or seriously into spirituality and transformation and ofc for anyone interested in Osho.

Facinating glimpses of a unque lifestyle
Veena Schiegel gives a fascinating account of her time as a disciple of and seamstress to the famous/infamous Indian guru Osho when he was known as Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh in the 1970's and 80's.I was particularly interested in her description of life in India and around Osho in the early 70's when his followers were much smaller in number than they were in the 80's.What an amazing time she had!Her dedication to her master comes through beautifully and will be a delight to all who have an interest in Osho or the master disciple relationship, meditation, or simply how one can learn to improvise in a hurry when much is missing from one's resources! Her anecdotes are delightful and indeed give glimpses of challenging situations that few have experienced -- or perhaps would want to experience -- except other disciples who may well feel jealous of her luck and privilege at being so close to Osho for a sewing skill which would likely be considered worth little recognition in other circumstances.A far cry from the lives of those persons who sew robes for royalty, or gowns for celebrities.Thank you Veena.

Truly rare Glimpses!!!
I am a second generation sannyasin and this book was truly enlightening about a seldom talked about nature of Osho, i.e Osho as a Cloth Designer. I always awed at the wired robes of Osho but never thought where they might have come from and how much efforts might have gone making it. It is really fascinating to know the story of Veena, starting as an ordinary hippie, ever whining at the poverty of India and the transforming into a devoted disciple of the great master. Veena is a great story teller and she has done a beautiful job narrating some magnificent experiences. In the end while reading the conclusion she has put and the story of Japanese Priestess I must say I was transformed. Every time I hear account of my Master from a sannyasin who was with him, I end up little more meditative as I was and far more informed about the colossal phenomenon called OSHO.

Vivid and engaging
Veena writes with an engaging immediacy that brings her world of 40 or so years ago vividly to life. I raced from page to page, eager for those glimpses of her personal contact with the Beloved Master Osho, and her first-hand accounts of the extraordinary methods he used to bring his disciples to meditation and maturity. After being one of the very first Westerners to take sannyas and later residing in Osho's household as his personal seamstress, Veena is a living authority on the events that took place around him, so often shrouded in malice and controversy. Her intelligence and integrity have produced a shining and very readable personal tribute to a great and fearless mystic who used unconventional and unique methods to wake us up.Thank you, Veena, for sharing your wonderful memories; highly recommended.
