Great if you want half of your drink to leak. Design flaw not defect
My initial version of this review was told in the heir of a parody review of years gone. It involved a mock As Seen on TV infomercial sort of sound. I will include it below, but, first, let me speak plainly so that Amazon doesn't think I'm just doing a parody review. This dispenser is not complicated, there's a lid on top to fill it with water, and a screw on spout at the base. So, that's a lid, the jug itself and a spout with screw cap. It takes a lot to fail engineering something like this because it's not exactly new tech, this sort of tech has been around as long as barrels have had bungs.Yet.... that's exactly what this company did. Let me explain, but before I do, it's best that you know the slightest bit about fluid flow and vacuums. If you've ever used a gasoline/petrol can that had a little plug attached at the top that you unplug when you're pouring gas, then you have that knowledge. So, the design isn't new, you can go to a grocery store and get a disposable version from water sellers. Those either have a plug on top or instruct you to pierce a place on top so that the water flows from the spout smoothly. This does not. Those are far cheaper. It'd take about half a second drill a hole in the lid and affix a relief plug, that way, when you're using it for its intended purpose, namely dispensing water, the jug will fill with air as the water leaves, otherwise a vacuum forms and the water will slow to a trickle or stop until air enters the jug. The spout lets air in which I believe is the main reason for the other concern, but you should note this because it is important as, the only way to properly allow air in is to remove the lid completely which opens up the drinking water to environmental contamination. Maybe no biggy in your fridge, it's definitely a biggy if you're using it to mix your drinks as you sit in another room and it'd be just as much if not more of an issue if you used this anywhere because... believe it or not, Covid is still a concern and even if it wasn't, potable water requires protection from environmental contamination. This, is a grievance and a note of one flaw in the design, it is not, however, the main issue I have a problem with.... which is... it leaks more than someone who just got done with a competitive drinking contest. Now, why am I so critical of that? It's a jug, call it a container if you wish, but, its designed purpose is to be a jug. Jugs in various forms, and barrels have been around for hundreds of years, this is not something that should be easy to screw up, yet here we are. The spout leaks everywhere, not like a water fountain, but, fill the jug to full capacity and leave it somewhere and you will be blessed with a sopping wet mess on what lies below because it drips constantly. The reason? Design flaw number 2. The spout/spigot. First of all, the plastic they used for the spout's screw cap is softer and more rigid than the main body of the jug. That isn't always a bad thing providing it wasn't a screw cap but was designed to plug the hole, but, it does screw on. To work properly, it'd need an o-ring or soft silicon or plastic on the inside to seal things up properly. This doesn't have that at all. the part of the spout/spigot that goes into the neck of the jug has some rings that, conceivably, should seal the jug, but, the material is not the type you want to use for a water seal. I was a volunteer firefighter, this is stuff that I know. Because of how cheap the plastic of the screw cap is, not only does it not seal the neck properly, but, the lid doesn't even have a soft plastic membrane to seal it there... a technology that soft drink companies figured out with plastic bottle caps decades ago. The other issue is that if they shipped the jug and the spout isn't facing downwards, you'll have to loosen the cap to straighten it out, this could possibly have caused the leak... fixing an issue with the spout/spigot that naturally occurs with usage. So, once you've straightened the spout/spigot out, now it's time to screw the cap back on... which is where the issue of it being softer and yet more rigid comes into play, screw the cap on, even if you've made sure that it's not cross-threaded, and the cap warps. You'll probably try to over-tighten it once the leaks start, so, you too will get to see what I mean if you don't heed my warning and actually buy this. Now, as far as the leak, it's not via the spout itself, which does have a silicon-like soft plug mechanism for opening and closing the spout. The leak happens as the inner edge where the cap meets the flat part of the spout. Conceivably, you could run something like Gorilla glue around the edge, but, by doing so, you'd better hope that you never have to clean out the spout because gorilla glue cures with water. So, I don't recommend this unless you're looking to cause water damage, but, even then, it's better to just take a bucket a nail and a hammer, fill the bucket with water knock a pinhole in the bottom third of the bucket and place it in the same area you'd put this dispenser, as, it'd have the same effect.Tl; DR - Don't buy it, it's leaky and that's a design flaw not manufacturing flaw. Now, here's the parody infomercial I talked about at the beginning for those interested:Do you like a drink dispenser that causes water damage? Is the thought of water dripping around a gallon of water onto everything below the spout something you absolutely need in your life? Well! Boy do I have just the product for you! It's the patent pending leaky spout feature we build in ALL of your Arrow Oasis Drink Dispenser for Fridge! You see, we here at Oasis pride ourselves in engineering even the simplest of products to be as faulty as possible with the fewest parts possible.Want issues of water not flowing because there's a vacuum that occurs because we excluded a pressure relief plug on the top lid that'd take 5 seconds to add on? Well! We've got you covered! Say no to smooth flowing water and let the patent pending "no pressure equalizer that doesn't involve taking the whole top lid off so your drinking water can get contaminated by the maximum amount" choke up the water flow so that nary a dribble comes out the spout unless you shake the jug!Oh! You want more leaks? ABSOLUTELY! The only other moving part is a screw on spout, and, not only are we going to assure you that the spout is inept because the plastic for the screw cap is less solid than the base plastic used for the entirety of the rest of the jug, we're going to ensure it's just brittle enough so that you cannot reliably trust that that added softness will plug any leaks! BUT WAIT! THERE'S MORE! Not having enough of a go at making something this simple as faulty as possible, our engineer poured over the design for MINUTES asking themselves "Gee, I wonder how can we make more leaks without outright poking holes in the bottom?"At Arrow Oasis, we DISCOVERED THE WAY TO DO JUST THAT! That material we used to make the cap for the spout not only is a softer plastic that doesn't screw on properly, it doesn't SEAL properly EITHER! All those great savings of a fraction of a cent per unit, we pass on to you because we couldn't be bothered to add an O-ring or at least silicon membrane to the inside of the cap to plug the hole the spout screws onto. What does that mean to you, the consumer? NO MATTER HOW TIGHT YOU SCREW THE CAP, YOU WILL ALWAYS BE ASSURED THAT IT WILL LEAK FROM THE THREADING OF THE SCREWS OR THROUGH THE THIN AREA BETWEEN THE SPOUT AND THE CAP OR BOTH :-D ! BUY NOW!

A simple but slightly flawed design
This water jug has served me well for 2 years, staying in the fridge and dispensing cold water when I want it. It has just one flaw: there is no air vent at the top to let air in as water leaves, and eventually the flow will slow down. However, the sides are flexible (allowing a bit of contraction) enough that it works okay if you just occasionally loosen the top to let the pressure equalize and close it again. I might look for something else if I were shopping again, but I don't feel the need to replace this one.

Fits nicely, needs air vent
It fits nicely in my refrigerator and holds over a gallon of water. Great if your refrigerator didn’t come with a dispenser. Better actually because we’re on a water well and prefer to buy water for drinking. Only improvement would be an air vent. For now I just loosen the cap and it works fine.

Decent product, non-communicative customer service
I bought this for my iced tea... Make a big batch, have enough to last a week at work. Except the dispenser didn't come with a spigot. I went looking for product support and was directed to the company's website...which was fine. Except I never got an actual response from them, even though I provided all of the pertinent information about my order. I waited a couple of weeks before buying a different product, getting a refund for THIS product and tossing the dispenser in the trash...only to have a spigot arrive a couple days after the trash was picked up.*facepalm* COMMUNICATE WITH YOUR CUSTOMERS. Had Arrow told me that they were sending me a spigot a) I wouldn't have thrown out the dispenser, b) I wouldn't have requested a refund, c) I wouldn't have had to buy a different dispenser, and d) they wouldn't have wasted the postage and a spigot.I will say this much for the dispenser... It felt pretty lightweight, but sturdy. And unlike some other plastic dispensers I've bought over the years, this one didn't have that "chemical" smell to it.
