This is an awesome machine. Before you buy, realize, you are not buying a 100% perfect machine. It may sew when you get it and it may not. This is a tinker's dream. You need to polish parts, you will need to oil parts, you may even need to adjust parts but you can make a fantastic machine if you spend the time.This machine will sew very thick leather and other heavy duty materials like canvas and canvas/leather.The machine came in a box and was very easy to assemble. It did not come with instructions, but again it was simple to figure out. It came threaded so, pay attention to the way it is threaded or - check out Google, YouTube and Facebook. The stand is ridiculously shaky, so the first thing you need to do is make a stand.There is a huge following of people with the CLSP. You can even download STLs for it and print them out. It is a functioning kit and a work in progress. Much polishing and final fitting to do, but it is well worth the effort. I am adding a motor and foot feed for mine.

Go on to YouTube and watch plenty of videos to learn all the tips and tricks. Once I did that I had no problems

I didn't expect much after reading about this online, but thought I knew what I was getting into. When it came, the chrome finish was chipping off the crank wheel in chunks, the legs for the stand were wobbly, it kept breaking thread no matter what I did, wouldn't crank smoothly at all and the instruction manual is horribly translated. The best thing about this was the free return through Prime.

When the box was opened, part were falling out. The directions look like a dog chewed on them and are basically useless. Seems to be a return and the complaint clearly didn’t inspect the item to check for quality. Pretty disappointed.

The tripod is useless but the actual machine is awesome! Easy to control stitching by using the crank, but adding motor would be a very helpful.

I know the headline sounds trite, but in this case it was fact.There was less packing oil than the videos show, but it was gritty and pervasive. It was functioning ok when it came, but I still tore it down to clean it up.In the process I polished the very unfinished castings and greased parts as recommended by some of the vids I saw.I am not done yet with that process. I stopped so I could try it out and learn its adjustments.If you don't have the time or skill to do machine work then you might be better to buy a different machine. (read more expensive and ready to go)But if you do have time and a bit of skill, then this appears to be a great deal.

Hard to find the right bobbin tension. Other than that easy to use
